RMweb Gold Enterprisingwestern Posted March 14, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 14, 2013 (edited) Depending on how pedantically the wheel is looked at, the 4 "dimples" around the axle centre are missing. Not a deal breaker for me, nor a criticism of Ultrascale, but I must admit I expected them to be there. Torr Giffard LSWR 1951-71
Hi Mike, ...looking at the scale of the dimples I think I'll be adding them as dots with a fine marker. Cheers Dave

Cheers Dave Best idea I think Dave. They'd probably disappear under weathering anyway in 4mm scale, as I said, only a pedant moment. Mike. ps. Thanks for getting the ball rolling with Ultrascale, even if you have cost me 3 arms and 4 legs, (I do have children to trade).

Hi Mike, Ultrascale products are the best, so there was a fair degree of self-interest in sourcing good P4 wheelsets for Tor Giffard....but I'm pleased that others are benefitting too. Mark
The wheels for the Western were based on a drawing I sent Ultrascale several years ago when I was developing my kit. We had several discussions regarding the four small holes in the centre boss and agreed that it was not practical to include in the tooling. You will also notice that the four holes in the disc do not go all the way through either. All these things can be done easily yourself. Regards Mark Humphrys Depending on how pedantically the wheel is looked at, the 4 "dimples" around the axle centre are missing.
