Once listed items are sent to an off site warehouse for packaging so item specific questions cannot be answered.

That's a new one.

And six of these "pre-packed" items can be combined into a single P&P charge, one assumes into a single package.

We're in rat and bargepole territory methinks.

Mike.

Are they trying to say they're as big as Amazon?

That said, I have two remote warehouses.

Well this odd... Seller doesn't state whether it's just a box or not!

Am I missing something?

The description says……

Hornby BR 4-6-2 West Country Class Yes Tor 34026 Loco & Tender
in Original Box
OO Gauge
UNTESTED

Unless the description has been amended, but ok the piccies don’t help!

If you check out other sales by the same seller, you find that the pictures of “boxes” locos generally include photos of the actual locos too, whereas this particular auction the photographer seems to have a rather lazy attitude (i.e. they can’t be bothered opening the box!)

However, the line about items being packaged up off site meaning the seller can’t answer any questions about their sales … well, that doesn’t sound dodgy at all, does it?!

Definitely ‘caveat emptor’ with this one!

I see, I suppose if it turned out it was just the box then it could be returned as ‘not described’

However if the description didn’t have the word ‘in’ before ‘original box’ then I’d be wary

So, when you are late for tea, Miss Riding Hood knows where to look for you!? Mr Wolf is in the shed!

I do have a considerably less overgrown actual workshop.

Which is well within shouting distance.

Those sheds are several miles from home for "plausible deniability" reasons...🙃

He's a trader and possibly knows no more than it's a toy train in a box, and going on the label in the box.

I would suggest that what you are missing is his feedback.

Although the total score is very high and the percentage score isn't bad, try reading some of the negative remarks.  Also don't forget that he's described it clearly as untested, in block capitals, so don't assume it's going to be in working order.  Then there's this in small print in the description

Item Questions:
Kindly note once our items are listed, they are sent to an off-site warehouse where they are pre-packaged ready for shipping to auction winners.
Unfortunately, this means that we are generally unable to answer item specific questions or provide further images.
We do our best to provide many detailed photos that accurately represent our items.

There's a very good reason for the neglected brambles and general run down look.

The brambles stop scrotes from going round the sides and back to break in unseen. I keep the front looking neglected so that it looks like the place is just full of junk. Which it is to the average thief looking for tools and bicycles to fund their drug habit.

Put a shiny new lock on and you can pretty much guarantee a break in.

I learned that the hard way and the police won't even come out.

They're full of used car and motorcycle parts from the 30s- 60s, bits of wood and some impressive spiders.

Nothing your average scrote can sell quickly, it was just the mess they make and the work it causes.

Around here, your average oxygen thief tool stealer tends to stick to nicking stuff out of Ford Transits, far easier to break into than a grotty shed ironically thanks to their legendary awful locks!!  If that doesn't work then they just nick the whole van!!

No point having fancy locks when you can stick your arm through the rusty holes in the floor.

#buy a used transit and learn to weld...

But if your dodgy transit gets nicked it might turn up on the telly being chased by the rozzers!   Entertainment value to the max!!!

The Sweeney's doing ninety 'cause they've got the word to go

They get a gang of villains in a shed up at Heathrow

They're counting out the fivers when the handcuffs lock again....

Here’s a madness I only encountered tonight. Over the years I’ve acquired loads of stuff like endless packs of track pins and fishplates etc so thought I’d have a clear out and checked the “opposition” to make sure I was the cheapest seller. These are 2-4 quid all day long yet it’s amazing how many folks put them as auctions! Am I missing something here? They’re going to sell for about three pounds so why not just list them buy it now and achieve it anyway? You’re not going to suddenly achieve a ridiculous price. And nobody in the market for a three pounds pack of rail joiners is going to bother with the faff of a bidding war to save 9p surely…
