PatB
Just won this. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/221567903560?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 It was up for a BIN of 85 quid a couple of weeks ago (which I still didn't think was too bad) so I'm quite pleased to have got it at something of a discount. There was a 101 as well but someone evidently wanted that one more than I did. Just need to cough for some 2mm Association wheelsets now.
hayfield
I have won a K's MR 1F un-built and with instructions. The only part which I think is missing is what I believe is called the Ramsbottom valve. First time I have seen instructions for this kit (for what they are worth) and covers the J50 and 97xx locos as well, all for £12.75
Horsetan
I think AGW has a Ramsbottom valve in the current list. Failing that, Craftsman Models.
hayfield
The kit arrived and the dome had the valve on, now know why I had not seen any instructions before as the kit came vac packed originally and the instructions were printed on the reverse of the card backing
hayfield
Here are the kit parts, thought it might be of interest As you can see its a very basic kit, and in todays terms crude. I think I will use a Wills etched chassis kit, but it is designed to fit the Hornby Dublo chassis, but would not the Hornby Jinty be more accurate ?. Must get a plan and check it And instructions to suite, no diagram and covers 3 kits Edited October 15, 2014 by hayfield

MarkC
I've got two of these MR tanks - both came with a member of the footplate crew as part of one of the side castings, to be seen in the cab opening. He seems to be missing in your example, John. Thanks for posting the pics - it must be 35+ years since I built mine One loco is still on a Hornby-Dublo chassis; the other is on what I am pretty sure is an MPD chassis, with Ks wheels. (A scrap box project when the original HD chassis failed!). I must dig them out when I get home from this trip.
hayfield
Mark The driver has been filed off from the rear. I think some preparation has been done on some of the castings. Must find a plan as most in the mags seem to be the later Jinty
MarkC
How painful! I think, from memory, the engine is intended to be a '2441' class loco as built - the shape of the tank side by the cab is a pointer... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midland_Railway_2441_Class

chris bales
A Hornby class 08 BR Green sound fitted for £60.00 buy it now. New to me this sound lark but it even works on Dc engine starts up and then the loco moves off. Auction just said it was DCC ready i was thinking the sound unit had been removed. This could get expensive
County of Yorkshire
Probably the best buy I've ever made from eBay. A rake of three GWR Colletts, all of which have to be Comet kits, given the weight of them. All for the princely sum of £35 for the lot including postage! I've needed some bow-ended corridor thirds for an age, and with no soldering skills to speak of, I was always going to have to buy some kit-built complete examples! They are beutifully painted, lined, and have interior detailing such as pictures on the compartment walls, but as you can see, they all need their bogies looking at, and one or two buffers and corridor connectors aren't fit for purpose. Still, will make for a nice winter detailing project! C54 C54 D95 l/h Cheers, CoY

RMweb Premium skipepsi Posted October 22, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 22, 2014 OT, but have picked up a Citroën CX workshop manual for a quid. Now all you need is the car to match is it a petrol or diesel manual or both?
Horsetan
Now all you need is the car to match is it a petrol or diesel manual or both? The fella who is in the middle of restoring / recommissioning four of them hasn't finished yet. All the CXs he's got are petrol. I've only seen one diesel (a DTR Turbo 2) offered, and that one had been SORN'd for a year...and had some rust to be excised. Mind you, I liked the colour - a sort of metallic burgundy.
