Guest bri.s
Like the cutting wall al ,great work , I did mine on the kitching table aswell I found it a lot easier to do then put on the layout . Nice build up if the colours and tones and the grass brings the thing to life, well done it'll look great on the layout with the tunnel at the end . RMweb Gold Alister_G Posted June 25, 2014 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted June 25, 2014 Thanks guys, I'm quite pleased with how they've turned out. Here's the end wall of the cutting. Not complete yet, in fact the plaster isn't even dry, but it gives an idea of the final result: Waiting for plaster to dry is worse than watching paint dry, I reckon Cheers, Al.

Jock67B
Al, First class craftsmanship - really admire the way you absorbed the suggestions! As I said before, makes me happy that I shall be modelling an almost level site though no doubt it will present its own challenges. Look forward to the next images, Kind regards, Jock. Classsix T
Super stuff Al, you'd have me asking if you needed extra baseboard support if I didn't know it was polystyrene! C6T.
C&WR
That is great, Al. I did worry you might have overdone it when I saw the picture of the grass before vacuuming, but the result is spot on.
RMweb Gold westerhamstation Posted June 26, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 26, 2014 ( Quote ) It was time for a bit of flockage: Is that a sport that's local to Bakewell, or a light snack, If Flockage isn't a proper word it should be, when I find out what it is I might have some myself. By the way the cutting looks superb, all the best Adrian.
freebs
I think you've nailed it now. It really does look the part now it's had decades of exposure to the elements and nature since it was first blasted

Cheers all, Al.

RMweb Gold Alister_G Posted June 26, 2014 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted June 26, 2014 Well, Freebs photoshoppery shows what the cutting could look like in the landscape, so this evening I started to make the landscape for real... well for the model... you know what I mean... So it's back to chicken wire and wet paper, and here's what I've ended up with: When it's all dried, I'll put it on the layout, and then add some Hanging basket liner, and then Adrian's new favourite word: flockage! Cheers, Al.
RMweb Gold ChrisN Posted June 26, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 26, 2014 I'm doing a David Todd, but without the pictures Flockage Although the French Flocage looks much more interesting. GWR on the Midland, obviously exchange trials.

GWR on the Midland, obviously exchange trials. I think the French one is nearer... Look, it's quite simple, the act of applying flock is flockage, just as the act of applying static grass is grassage, and going shopping is shoppage. :scratchhead: I don't know what all the fuss is about

freebs
What's that western interloper doing on the Midland?? It's the weirdest thing - it actually entered the tunnel just outside Penzance….
cbeagleowner
Great Stuff Al - I think you've captured blasted Limestone really well. Will you be doing any outcropping stuff as well? I've got that challenge myself so I am looking forward to stealing more of your ideas soon ;-)
