The original Flickr caption says Clay Cross and it's part of a set by the same photographer at the same location on the same date.

I don't know the area itself, but it certainly looks more like Derbyshire.

Avenue Sidings in the bushes, or what remained.

Definitely, looking back from the bridge on Hagg Hill, New Tupton towards the bridge which use to enter the Avenue Coking Plant in Wingerworth, much changed here with a new cross over, but the bridge still exists but it is now a nature reserve and the Avenue host a large housing estate

Having spent some time collecting too many parcels vans, I can now command 6 quite mixed trains for my modest layout

And I have some more coming to me in the post to add some Maroon BGs to the mix.  Five of the rakes have mid point easi-shunts so I can easily re-marshall them in the station.

Can you ever have too many NPCS / parcels vehicles? 😁

Apparently yes,  I had to add another siding on the (to be) scenic side to store train number 6 as any more cassettes and I would not be able to swap out trains without stacking them.

I obtained a couple of maroon BG this week to add colour but in reality I don't have the space so some other vans will have to go into their boxes and storage again.

It's not like Panniers, these things take up space. 🤣

But you can put stock away and then swap it with layout stock for variety, so, no, you can't have too much NPCCS.

I'm not helping, am I, mummy?

NO!

I've already had my eye on a Green SYP Class 24, and then I saw some maroon ex LMS full brakes - I could go on.

I did actually sell several cream/crimson BGs and cream/crimson ex LMS full brakes.

A very nice collection, looks like you've achieved my modelling ambition! :D

Do you remember how in the 80s virtually every model shop would have the LIma model of this in it's bargain bin?

I had one as a youngster!

Interesting photo, did the Tartan Arrow vans appear in regular parcels traffic before presumably getting repainted?
