That's interesting so one of the C53 was supposed to be saved... how on earth did it get scrapped, I am surprised no-one has yet built a replica

A replica GER tram locomotive was built and operated by the Chappel and Wakes Colne Railway. It was based on a diesel shunter however.

It is extremely ironic that the C53 and coach No.8, both earmarked for preservation and one having starred in the Titfield Thunderbolt, were destroyed.

Whereas coach No.7 survived to preservation thanks to being an onion store 😄

It would bring tears to your eyes...

To date the last Peak I have been hauled by is 67 The Royal Artilleryman on the 21st April 2014 at the Great Central Railway (North). However this was not by the 1962 Crewe works built version but by this rather nice 5” gauge version hauling visitors around the Nottingham Society of Model and Experimental Engineers Society extensive facilities at the Great Central Railway (North), Ruddington.

Nice looking signal box - any further info / photos in a previous post?

Hi, there may be some photos somewhere, but I can post something a bit later.

The basis is the Ratio kit, but with a scratchbuilt stone base and etched Churchward replacement windows.
