A Nod To Brent - a friendly thread, filled with frivolity, cream teas and pasties. Longing for the happy days in the South Hams 1947.

Ah - a hazelnut in every bite.

There was a joke then about squirrels, if I recall :jester:

I suspect the ingredients have travelled much further than that. I doubt if all of them have been sourced from cornwall

Don

One of our staff once went 'AWOL', simply didn't turn up for his next booked shift. After a couple of weeks, we realised, via local contacts, that he'd run away to Callington to seek his fortune in the Ginsters factory.

After a while, as I recall, he turned up again and recounted tales of what went on there..... :O

6814 as requested takes an up parcels from Tigley Junction. I do like these Dapol fruit vans and I plan to add some decent vac pipes to the ends like those on my K42 seen here.

They have not, I think, previously been posted on this topic but have been taken from my blog at www.grahammuz.com but are posted here for Rob to keep and use as he wishes.

Just blundered across this photo of an S160 wending it's way West through Somerset in August 1944. Might be of interest to some on this thread if only for it's extreme rarity value:

Edit from same source details of the first one to appear at Newton Abbot too and other details in the narrative
