A Nod To Brent - a friendly thread, filled with frivolity, cream teas and pasties. Longing for the happy days in the South Hams 1947.

Seriously though, some urgent shunting needs doing to rescue the Finching Sisters from the verandah of the Toad- they have been trying not to touch the wet paint for over a week and the gin has run out!

Yes, by rail !

That could become a bit of a fad on here Rob. Taking a 'run' through one's layout location sounds like a good idea to me. I have yet to do that going east since my last trip in 1969 I think it was. Been west through SOSJ several times behind steam though, but that was a few years ago.

Only way I could do that would be to enrol in an old peoples home, and I'm not ready for that!

You didn't fall through the toilet floor then.. :jester:

The line is very busy as it's now peak season and taking that coach out of service is stretching their capacity.

As you leave Buckfastleigh Station, the Line passes under a Road Bridge, (Totnes Road), just up to the right on top of the embankment is a rather nice Old Style House that my Wife and I were viewing with an eye to purchasing when we had the Sight and Sound Video Library in Buckfastleigh and lived in Fore St. As we were looking down the very long back garden, a NICE Steam Train came in, and Black Sooty smoke covered us, the garden and the washing that was hanging on the Washing Line.

My Wife said NO WAY,              pity, I could have quite happily sat in the garden all day, looking over into the cutting.
