A Nod To Brent - a friendly thread, filled with frivolity, cream teas and pasties. Longing for the happy days in the South Hams 1947.

Nor did I! A replacement for 7816 is on the cards now.

Why do I get a  Deja Vu feeling on this. No CADS, just intention list. Is this a knee jerk reaction as there is more than one company considering producing the Manor?

It is an obvious progression from the Prairie/Mogul.

Not getting rid of my tired old NuCast just yet.

Update on the G coat of arms W situation:

The Laurence Waters book states "...with some of the tenders receiving the new Hawksworth style (G coat of arms W). However, it is not clear exactly how many Manor tenders received this livery."

The book has a pic of 7807 at Moat Lane on 28 July 1948 coupled to a G coat of arms W tender #2108, a late Churchward 3500g with a replacement wide-hornblock Collett underframe. There is also a pic of 7818 at Southampton c 1948 with a G coat of arms W tender. Both locos still have their Churchward small-boss drivers.

Having said that, I didn't mean to imply that I would be seeking to purchase such a large locomotive, now that the Kernow Small Locomotive Policy is in force.

I will try and find the previous thread on post war manor liveries and update with this. As I hadn’t seen any with the crest livery in my previous research

Never realised about the Manor announcement either, until reading about it on this thread!

More reason to follow this thread as I have my finger on the pulse of coming announcements.:P

But the Manor is a small locomotive in the category of 4-6-0 tender engines.

And perhaps a wonderful older sibling, to provide guidance and inspiration to all the cute little tank engines and their close relatives the Pecketts?

Peckett big brother = pannier.

Peckett little sister = smaller Peckett

Peckett odd distant uncle that no one talks about = LNER loco

We do like small tank engines.....even panniers.......but not L&NER tank engines...........However the ones that are disguised as vans are okay.

Caravan and Camping Agent's description there dear boy. More like this…." disguised as Sheds (not 66s)."

image.png.df1500579f6fe8656d396975204cd3de.pngSome LNER Loco's were disguised as Art Installations.

Yo.
