A Nod To Brent - a friendly thread, filled with frivolity, cream teas and pasties. Longing for the happy days in the South Hams 1947.

Meanwhile at the RM Stonehouse Barracks in Plymouth a Gallic flare was noted with the arrival of these. Friday night in Union Street will never be the same...

I wonder what the Finching's would have made of these? They would look good on a set of Warwells...

Cheers,

I didn't know the Finching sisters were into bondage.

Many had their suspicions and the Rev Crevice was often seen limping away late at night from the Finching residence after their monthly gin and gherkin evenings....

Another factor worth remembering is the sidings at Wrangaton and the stores depot there from WW2 were still operational. The Americans ran the wartime dump there but RN built the current buildings, not sure what was there in 1947.

I would say the most likely load in this period would be Universal Carriers (Bren Gun carrier) as those were tracked so not driven on road for long distances, plus several can fit on lowmac or warwells without going out of gauge. Self propelled guns are another option.

Be good to see 7804 out again on a local along with some piloting duties....
