just a few from last night, not a bad little job really, crewe to manchester piccadilly and back to lichfield at a steady 30mph all the way, thankfully i only had the 37 for the first bit between crewe and manchester then had the comfort(ish) of the DBSO all the way back to Derby, i do enjoy driving the DBSO's truth be told

Got any diagram/RTT information for the 73s Jim/anybody? I'd quite like to pop out & see them. Keep the updates coming, I love reading about what you are up to :-)

Pete

Active in the system, but not set off yet.

Great Moulton

05 July 2016

9703 and 37421 on 3Z01 16:39 PETERBOROUGH L.I.P. - 20:16 NORWICH T.C

Somewhat off route - the train didn't traverse the Brecklands due to lack of conductor so instead travelled via Ely / Chippenham Jct / Bury St Edmunds to Stowmarket where it reversed and headed North to Norwich.

Although you can't see him, I believe Jim was driving.

73/9s didn't go on the MerseyRail run last night, just no reported and went back to Crewe C.S after testing the other bits of its diagram. Allegedly due to 73/9s not being cleared over certain sections of Merseyrail yet.

They should work 1Q43 tonight, 1Q44 tomorrow and 1Q45 back to RTC on Friday.

Nice to see you round our way for a change Jim! Its bloody typical, second time you've been around my patch and I'm on leave again

Nice to see shots of C/P and the low level sidings from the ground as all I see on the panel is lights and buttons.

Hopefully for us east Anglians, you will visit again soon.

I got advised the 73's missed out both the Wirral and Northern Lines due to the route conductor going sick.

So, any truth in the rumour about 3 class 50s.......????

Lots of rumour and counter rumour elsewhere, but I like the idea that they may be employed instead of hiring in 68s for the high speed tests with MENTOR.

Cheers,

Mick

So you seemed to make good time Jim. 54 late starting out and 47 early by the time up passed me. Not bad at all, but I have to say that that is one very quiet loco, didn't hear it until you where almost at me.

So they are Jim and 37025 passing Carnforth North Junction with the 0S25 Darby R.T.C to Bo'ness Junction Exchange Sidings

Hi jim

68023, was that parked up in the jubilee sidings by platform 6? What was it hauling?

It's on the second short set along with 68016. I'll post some pictures in the class 68 thread tonight

then it was right away to tebay for 10 mins

I saw you at Balshaw Lane Jct, you nearly caught me out too but I had just enough to time to set up the gorilla pod camera and take a snap (albeit blurred). Here's the video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=eGL2tHRZOMw

And the picture... https://www.flickr.com/photos/132236193@N02/27534121793/in/datetaken/

(I've been locked out of my laptop so can't post the picture, only provide a link to Flickr, which I uploaded it to earlier)

I agree that she was a bit quiet past me...maybe the driver was a bit conservative with the hellfire handle? :P

Great pics and insight into the workings of the railway, as usual.

Thanks,

Jack.
