Everyone too busy with their heads down looking at their phones to notice the archway above them!

Or the original North Staffs Railway manhole covers on that platform.

in all fairness I did say hello from the ground but the warmth of the cab was beconing!

Yes that was me on 090, I did give you a wave, but the groundstaff was doing a brake test and then we were getting hoofed out.

That wind does cut across EMG

Swindon so depressing to drive round

The only good bit is the magic roundabout.  It’s even the official name now.   Great fun on a bike, especially when you you go the ‘wrong way round’ just cos you can.  :-)

My journey to work runs near the old Ironbridge branch for quite a way; I've often wondered whether something like one of these might make it a bit more interesting 🙂

it was 3 ‘smart’ weedsprayer trains, I believe they have gone there for testing/comissioning ready for the new season which is about to start

wouldn’t fancy the climb from buildwas to lightmoor on the self propelled one though!

Me neither! Luckily my "stop" is above where it starts getting steep. That said, I think the old line down to Coalport where the Silkin Way is now is even steeper; that's a slog on a bike, I've no idea how trains got up there at all...

Taking a modern train along the SVR must be fun, it must all be very different!

tonight was a trip to the Severn valley to drop off some wagons

intermodal passing through nuneaton

My train, 66745 up front

IMG_5037.jpeg

went via new st and Stourbridge to Kidderminster where once clear of the mainline the SVR signaller gave the slot back so I grabbed some pics while I was waiting for him to walk down to the loco as he was travelling to Bewdley with me

IMG_5040.jpeg

had a single line token and the route had been pre set into platform 3 at Bewdley, no good for photos though!

Edited version of the same pic to try and brighten it up a bit

IMG_5041_m7D8R86RGg4PSdCFhD4wBF.jpeg

once uncoupled moved forward and the signaller set the route for me back through platform 2

IMG_5042.jpeg

where I had to stop while he went to the other box to reset the route for me to head back to Kidderminster

IMG_5043.jpeg

IMG_5045.jpeg

straight back to the exchange line and belled myself out before heading back to Nuneaton

IMG_5046.jpeg

decided to head home instead of back to the hotel as I know that if I went to the Abingdon show I’d spend too much money!

bescot to Worcester later tonight

My Dad had his usual Friday session in the Western I’ll doubt you’d have disturbed him after several pints of Enville Old Porter 😀

For the avoidance of doubt, I meant going anti clockwise around the central island (‘the wrong way’ compared to a normal roundabout) while correctly following the lane markings.

Can see why you might have interpreted my words differently!

Bescot to Donnington ( assume this is the one near Telford)   might be a  long way round trip,  if you can even get there,  given yesterday's landslip
