Good evening, David. That’s a most impressive selection of photo’s of Morpeth, and all those Pacers. In C18622, with 142065, on an empty coaching stock movement, on the 4th June, 1993, that’s a particularly excellent three quarter shot of the unit as it traverses the crossover.

With warmest regards,

 Rob.

Good evening, David. That’s a most excellent set of photo’s of Milford Junction on the 29th May, 1996. In C20966, with 59206, on an up coal train, it shows how good the National Power livery was.

With warmest regards,

 Rob.

Good evening, David. That’s a most interesting selection of photo’s of railways from Wales, England and Scotland. They show how very varied our railways are. The first one, at Betws y Coed, looking south on the 23rd July, 2002, is most tranquil and it is actually quite like a model railway with all those little fir trees next to the track on the left.

With warmest regards,

 Rob.

Good evening, David. I’m glad you are safe and that you escaped the storm. That’s a excellent set of photo’s of Newcastle from 1987 to 1990. In C11583, with 156436, on a Glasgow Central service, on the 27th October, 1988, you can see how grim the weather was that day. Wet and looking very dull too.

With warmest regards,

 Rob.

Good evening, David. That’s a delightful selection of photo’s of the ECML in Northumberland. The first one taken at Stannington, with a class 43 at the rear of a HST, on an up express, going away from the camera, in February, 1983, shows just the one tail light visible. I can’t recall, if in 1983 it was the practice just to display one tail light on HST’s, or two. My memory is shocking this evening.

With warmest regards,

 Rob.

Good evening, David. That’s a most excellent set of photo’s of the Midland Railway at Butterley. In J6857, with 6203, in April, 1980, that is a most imposing shot of the front of the locomotive from track level.

The ECML photo’s from Northumberland, from around Cramlington and Damdykes are truly superb. In J9501, at Cramlington with a down HST, in May, 1988, you can see the last man standing with the fifth carriage still being in blue and grey livery.

With warmest regards,

 Rob.

Good evening, David. What an impressive set of photo’s of the North British Railway in Northumberland. The last photo’ of the Kielder viaduct, from April, 1981, shows how excellent the viaduct was. They don’t design and make them as good as that anymore, sadly.

With warmest regards,

 Rob.

Good afternoon, David. That’s a most impressive selection of photo’s from around Trowell, on the Midland line from Trent to Clay Cross Junction via Toton. The first photo’ of a Beyer Garratt, 47970, on an up coal train, c1953, shows how impressive those locomotives were, and it’s a shame one was not preserved. The 4F, 44211, on an up mineral train, c1953, in JVol2078, looks very good, with a powerful blast of smoke from it’s chimney.

With warmest regards,

 Rob.

Good evening, David. Firstly, I think it’s sometimes only too easy to omit clicking on the submit button, so I hope you are not too upset over the earlier non appearance of today’s set of photo’s. And today’s photo’s are superb and capture, as always, Morpeth perfectly. Now, in C11497, with 43073, leading an up HST, on the 22nd August, 1988, there would appear to be a restaurant car leading. Could it be the Executive Lounge car?

I think so, Rob.

Definitely at least a TRUK but these would've been TRFK by INTERCITY days. However, there are no yellow or red cantrail stripes so must be the Lounge car.

Bodyside branding doesn't help as it just says INTERCITY.
