Very nice work Rob. Can I ask what the origin of the building is please, I think you said it was RTP but can't find the reference to the maker.

YEY !

You've done it again Rob, nice and simple but most effective mate. Superb !!!

Thanks both. Most kind of you.

Mikkel, it's the Bachmann Woody Bay station building from the Lynton and Barnstaple Railway.....so there is a Devon connection.

I've not done much just a bit of weathering. Here's a catalogue photo.

Thanks. I've now done my bit to keep you from getting on with the layout  :)

Seriously, that's a nice Bachmann product but I think you've improved it no end. It's not just the weathering but everything around it. Embedding a building - any building - to make it look natural and part of the scene is actually not very easy, I find.

The station building is still extant and is now a cafe.

Going back 40 odd years to the days when it was technically part of our patch a couple of us used to pop down there regularly to make sure it was still in one piece although the boss aways used to claim that his visit was to buy fish from the fishermen at West Bay. (oddly the boot of his company Ford Escort had strong smell of mackerel for a few days after he'd been down to visit Maiden Newton signalbox).

Well.........it's up.

Dining room suitably cluttered.

A few concerns over clearances from the fiddle yards to the scenic section and a rethink required after the show regarding actually attaching the fiddly yards as they are now known.

Otherwise, seems okay.

A spot of running may be in order later to make sure all works as I would like. At the moment I am quietly running 30584 as it appears to have a bit of a hunt when going forwards. Okay back.

As a whole, there will be a few rough edges but nothing I will worry about until after the show.

Am I happy with it? The answer is yes, if I wasn't how can I expect others to be? Mutton could be better and that is the challenge that awaits before the next outing.

Rob.
