GMKAT7
Good afternoon folks, Seeing Black Star Riders at Rock City (Nottingham) in February last year, one of the support acts was Michael Monroe, one-time vocalist for 'poodle-haired' band Hanoi Rocks. Given that he was 63 years old, his performance was amazing, moving all over the stage and speakers stacks etc. Still has long hair as well, not like yours truly 😂 Unless it was a syrup? Cheers, Nigel. 2 1
MrWolf
Rock City, now there's a blast from the past. I remember seeing just about everyone from Bo Diddley to Zodiac Mindwarp there. Back when strobes and dry ice were still allowed... World's stickiest carpet and the door staff were Hell's Angels, so there was rarely any trouble. 1 1
GMKAT7
Hello Rob Mr Wolf, Times have changed at Rock City, no more sticky carpets! Even the 'greeters ' on the door seemed to be the usual 'for hire ' security types, not a Hells Angel in sight. Given the bands that were on that night I wouldn't have expected any ruckus. The other band was Phil Campbell's B@stards, playing Motorhead covers and some original stuff. And air conditioning - what is the world coming to? The main attraction for me was seeing BSR with Scott Gorham, probably the last time given he and I are both getting on a bit now 😅 Cheers, Nigel. 1

Badged doormen, not Hells Angels now, but there’s still something edgy about the place. Jay Edited February 27 by JustinDean

RMweb Gold Popular Post NHY 581 Posted March 10 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted March 10 Morning all, Apologies for the absence. Yes, there is stuff going on, a lot of stuff as it happens and as such, I’m trying my best to reduce my online time and reallocating that time to doing said stuff. Yes, Project W is ongoing and all will be revealed in due course, when things are truly under way. The reason for the urgency ( and therefore the head down approach ) is that this new project ( which is currently little more than bare boards ) is scheduled to have it’s first public showing at the beginning of August’ 24.................and this is in addition to the previously published exhibition commitments for 2024 but could not be turned down. ( and it will not be shown as a work in progress ) So, keeping an eye on SWAG’24, Project W and readying Sheep Dip and Ewe for forthcoming exhibitions is keeping the 🐑 well and truly occupied. Sporadic updates will follow. I thank ewe. Rob 8 2
LBSC123
Apologies if it’s been answered before @NHY 581 but how do you attach the fiddle yard sections of the layout to your IKEA lack baseboards? Keep up the great work.

Over the years, I’ve used a variety of solutions and will post a few images a bit later but I haven’t got access to the relevant images right now. Project W is needing a bit of a re-think which once it’s actually MAKING SOME PROGRESS !@#!€$!!!!!………………………will be posted. Rob 2 1

Project W is needing a bit of a re-think which once it’s actually MAKING SOME PROGRESS !@#!€$!!!!!………………………will be posted. Rob So, here we go........... Generally, when I adopted the wider LACK Table tops ( 40cm ) width, I stayed with using the LACK shelves for the Fiddly Area Re-shuffling Tables ( F.A.R.Ts ). I used bolts passed back through the end boards which connected with "L" shaped brackets on the FART. These again were from IKEA and tightened up using wing nuts and washers. However, if the boards are the same width, this is a bit more tricky. Project W presents this very issue and I'm probably going to use dowels of some sort to allow the boards to go end on. I need to then work out a way to then keep them ( the boards) together. I have some ideas, complicated by the fact I may well opt for some sort of rotating F.A.R.T to reduce stock handling. Main issue is to of course negate a droopy F.A.R.T so a tight butting surface is essential, ensuring they are squeezed together. So, stay tuned but it will be a while. Rob. RMweb Gold NHY 581 Posted March 14 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted March 14 The other issue with Project W is that the actual depth of the boards is 38mm as opposed to 50mm so I really want to avoid catches on the sides. I have a schemey sheep plan but I won't know until I'm in the throes of implementing it if it will in fact work..............which knowing me as I do will be the evening before it's first outing. 1
