RMweb Premium Mallard60022 Posted June 8, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 8, 2018 Merci. P Had to go to Kernow (not CK) for a DCC (two wires only and smal,l so far away) version of '89. problem is I am now trying to identify when exactly it was that it was loaned to 72A for shunting the Dairy yard at SJ. RMweb Gold Captain Kernow Posted June 8, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 8, 2018 I've just run my non-P4 B4 at home for the first time since acquiring it on Tuesday and I'm really very highly impressed indeed. This must be one of the best, slow-running locos straight out of the box that I've ever had. It even seems slightly better than that other little paragon of shunting, the Hattons 'P'. As a result, such nicely running locos will see earlier deployment on the layouts than other stuff that I've had for a bit longer. I'd love a second one, or even a third, but there was only ever one on the VoRLR, so I have to observe the niceties of historical accuracy. Good luck at the show, Rob, sounds like a good one.
RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted June 8, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 8, 2018 I stand corrected, I thought it was Ewemouth Junction. No, definitely Eweford - you can tell by the curved roof of the half roundhouse building.

How about the same loco in a different livery, or even the same livery but in a different weathering? I'm not really helping, am I...

All the best Steve P.s. will you ever get to Swansea or Cardiff shows? Hi Steve, I am down for the Swansea show in early October and then the Cardiff Show later the same month. Work may interfere with the Swansea week end but deffo for the Cardiff show. Sheep Lane is at Swansea and Mutton at Cardiff. If this fails then Bleat Wharf is at the Small Cardiff Show in January '19. Thanks CK. There are some lovely layouts there I must say. Looking forward to it. Car is packed and ready to go. Early start tomorrow and hopefully a good run there. Rob. RMweb Gold Captain Kernow Posted June 9, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 9, 2018 Arrived in good time. Don't forget to be on the look-out for shifty individuals going by the name of Spams, but who may be observing you from a relatively close distance, albeit in some kind of disguise. Andrew P
Had a great morning at the Midlands Small Layouts Showcase in Armitage this morning, and had the privilege to meet Rob, plus many more Webbers (gwrrob, Andy Y and 2many spams to mention just a few) that were gathered around this fine specimen of a Rural hideaway. I hope some of my pics came out, if so, I'll post them up later. Thanks Rob and good to meet you, and see first hand your superb modelling. RMweb Gold NHY 581 Posted June 9, 2018 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted June 9, 2018 Evening all. Thanks to everyone who stopped by. A lovely day spent amongst lovely people. Spams did indeed appear disguised as a nun, parachuted into the car park. Great to catch up with Rob and Sister Spams once again. Great to finally meet Andy P and to see him looking so well after recent events. So many others stopped to say hello that it was quite tricky at times to run the layout. Special thanks must go to Rob and his kind assistance during a slight hiccup. Still not sure what was behind it but the Jinty concerned has been spoken to and details taken. A splendid show, hopefully set to return next year. Rob.

Bleat Wharf next year I hope. Lamb's Lane in 2020? Ram's Bottom in 2021?

Spooky..Ramsbottom Down is the working title for a Bristol based Ex-Midland Railway terminus. Central to the layout will be the modelling of Ramsbottom Passage, a dark back alley close to the station. Rob

Porcy Mane
Successful erection in middle of hall. Quite imoressed with the speed it went up today. Wish I could have come; but I had an erection of my own to photograph. Unfortunately I was unable to enter. Up side being it was only three minutes walk from a rather good model railway exhibition. Well more of a society AGM actually. P
