Thank you. The concrete is DAS. 

 

I spray with an initial coat of Humbrol acrylic grey, I think it was 64 maybe..........as a base.

 

A few previously posted images but any excuse.............

 

 

Other colours are then really dusted over such as Matt black and dark earth, very very lightly. 

The main textures and colouring comes from weathering powders. I shade the 'cracks' with black then soften this with 'smoke' and create a 'vignette' effect around the outside of the panel. Some 'dark earth' and 'sand' are added here and there and then 'white' is added to the centre and all is then blended in. 

 

 

 

It takes a while to do whilst making sure each panel differs from the others but it's worth it. 

 

 

You can also scribe the DAS to add some detail here and there. 

 

 

And a bit of static grass here and there helps. 

 

 

 

 

Same principle was used with the concrete platform for Mutton.

It may be me, but I think some misunderstanding may have crept in, as I interpreted Rob's hints to mean it was a green diseasel, not that it was necessarily in a green box...
