Would the gondola cause that much deflection? Can't find any mention of any such restrictions. Also, the German wikipedia page (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rendsburger_Hochbrücke) says there are weekend guided walks to a high level viewing platform at one end. Anstelle des südlichen Häuschens wurde eine Aussichtsplattform errichtet, die über eine Wendeltreppe erreichbar ist und an Wochenenden mit Führung bestiegen werden kann. which sounds like a good target for next year's holidays...
