Yes, luckily I bought the latest version from DB,  it has been better designed for OO use and is  shown my J27 pictures . It still needed a couple of mods e.g reduce width of front cylinders before fitting and the same for other minor parts. He has produced a new instruction sheet for it as well.

Hello Mick,

Could you please tell me where you get the transfers for the white lining on bogie and pony wheels from please?

I see fox do driving wheels, but can only see smaller bogie/pony wheel lining on the A3 loco sheet.

Cheers,

Tom

Just spent a few days reading over this thread. Wonderful modelling, lots of inspiration too. Think I am definitely going to add some LNER locos and stock to my collection after reading this thread. Looking forward to seeing more.

Regards

Scott

Very nice.

Did you use the Bachmann D11 as a base model?

Hello Bon Accord,

The engine and chassis are scratch built out of brass and nickel silver.

Markits wheels and a Portescap motor and gearbox

The tender was from a very early K's ROD kit,,, but it need a fair amount of work to get it close, I ditched their "chassis" and built one with pickups.

If I had to start again I would build a scratch tender as well,,,, but I can think of all sorts of things to do before building another B3 !!!!.

Mick's painting makes all the difference and as mentioned on a previous post I will post pics of it when it has been reunited with the chassis.

Many thanks for your interest.

SAD :sadclear:

Latest

Hornby B1, new names and lettering/numbers as Hornby decided to do as a BR Loco. This the only LNER Green B1 that matches the lighting set up as far as can tell from the RCTS Book. All the other Green B1's in LNER spec either had axle generators or no lighting fitted.

Latest project another A1/1 which will be in Royal Blue as 4470 as I am selling the PDK version I built a while ago.

As you can see a way to go on this one. Tender finished, the Tender Body is from a rebuilt GBL A4 Mallard Tender which has the correct Flat sides and now fitted onto the excellent Hornby  A4 Tender chassis.

She does scrub up well. Looks grand Mick - you have really tamed that ski-jump. I like your treatment of the front buffer beam... I'm just having a think about tackling that task on the front of the Hornby LNER liveried B17s where it is completely absent. How do you get your white lining so fine in that restricted space, if you don't mind me asking please?

Thanks, I'll have a go at that. I tried the front lining on a 1928 corridor tender freehand with a brush and also using masking tape but the result was quite frankly unfit for human eyes to settle on... practice makes perfect.
