    Rob Knowing of your previous trials and tribulations I will share this....my personal experience is that the Bachmann version is not as pretty but is a little more robust in use. The coupling rods on the Hornby version can be problematic. I'm on my second.... Chris

    In terms of TV coverage of the hobby I grew up in an era when a Christmas documentary on the Flying Scotsman was a real highlight - if you saw it when it was broadcast.....our glass is half full surely........?

    Can't comment on the Humbrol spray but I've used a bit of Halfords Matt Lacquer as well as Army Painter ?Anti-shine and both seem fine if well shaken (and if desired warmed up...)

    Indeed and preferably the double ended version which shows both bottom of buffer beam and the actually coupler height.     Thanks to everyone who came along to the Autumn Weekend. It was great to be back at the Abbey and see so many old and new friends enjoying our hobby. Plans are being finalised for the Spring Weekend on 4-6 March 2022. Booking will open in November. Some pictures from DCC, Track building, 7mm kits and Weathering. Chris Hopper
