  1. The last lot of foam has been laid and a loco has been test run on the BR track. Sadly it won’t let me add the video I made. steve
  2. Al Stewart has songs called Trains and Night Train To Munich. steve
  3. Grinder - Train Raid Clive might like this one. steve
  4. I'm sure I remember a railway modeller being the murderer in an episode of Morse. Or am I confusing it with some other show? steve
  5. There's a New Zealand TV cop series called The Brokenwood Mysteries that has aired on U.K. telly. It reminded me of Midsomer Murders in its 'feel' and is very watchable. In episode 1 of series 6, The Power Of Steam, most of the action is set in a model railway shop that has a large and impressive layout in it. It is based around a steampunk murder... https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11261194/?ref_=ttep_ep1 steve
  6. You could join the EMGS and actually model in EM. If you're starting from scratch then you have a head start really. It is that much more accurate and diesel/electric loco conversions are fairly simple, as they are for rolling stock. Just a thought... steve
  7. Who got it in the divorce settlement I wonder.... steve
  8. MPs at the House of Parliament the other day did just that, so yes it is. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-52903115 steve
  9. This evening track was laid on the BR siding, plus the foam base cut and laid for the lead track and point. Excuse the weight used. It's Daughter's, I don't touch the stuff. steve
  10. The carrier bags make great bin liners. We won’t have to buy any for years at this rate. steve
  11. There was a brief hiatus over the weekend as Grandad duties were required but work has resumed. The two boxes have been glued and screwed together, the track formation marked out and the first piece of under track foam laid. An inspiration came to me for the off-scene area, so instead of two individual fiddlesticks, I have partially dismembered a damaged boxfile and will be using this instead. Both fiddle tracks will be laid on here plus the power input. It won't be permanently fixed to the other boxes as that would be unwieldy and suspect structurally. Thanks for looking. steve
  12. The Little Train That Could - Burl Ives This is for anyone old enough to remember Children's Favourites with Uncle Mac! steve
  13. H*nky Tonk Train Blues, various artists. The Original Original H*nky Tonk Night Train Blues - Pete Atkin. Describes accurately the workings of a steam loco. steve
  14. Blyth Power are a folk-punk band formed by a railway enthusiast called Joseph Porter and named after a Class 56. They have several railway-related songs, Junction Signal is just one of them. There's also Eastfield, an "Urban Rail Punk" band (in their own words) named after the depot. Their website, run by the main man Jesse has some superb railway photos on it. https://www.eastfieldrailpunk.co.uk/ Mr Cloggy Dog of this parish is well acquainted with both of these beat groups... steve
  15. Plenty of takeaways in Methil though, including the famous Samhai! steve
  16. I parked my 407SW like that. Mine was just bad parking steve
  17. No Rob never heard of ‘em. But thanks, I will give them a try. steve
  18. Anyone have a spare. Seem to be out of stock everywhere. Thanks steve
  19. Howden Co-op car park today. The interior was equally smart. I used to think these were big cars, but not compared to a lot of modern ones. steve
  20. A wren has been seen in our garden for the first time. Small aren’t they? steve
  21. Cheers Clive! Loved the Japanese Goth. steve
  22. Plan you work. Work your plan. A very useful piece of advice I nicked from another (non-railway) forum. steve
  23. Mrs Plane is out. Time to test the speakers... steve
