  1. Not quite, the two containers on the right are fitted with 'twistlocks' and 'Freightliner' fittings, and can be lifted from the top or bottom.
  2. Yes Hornby have said that, but if you actually look at the models they have scaled down the 00 models including the errors in them, the GWR van has the same incorrect roof profile as the 1970s airfix 00 model and the tank wagon has the same error on the end stantions as the Oxford 00 model.

  6. There is tick box to also sign up for rewards when joining the club, if you didn't tick the box or joined before the rewards scheme was launched you need to sign up separately.
  7. No sign of any magnetic coupling for the loco in my set, so I had to make some myself. The NEM socket on the 68 is not at the correct height so needed a step in the coupling.
  8. Condor was a premium overnight service, I don't think any containers would be held back, an empty container would only be sent to the customer after they had booked a slot on the train.

They also do the cradle which is less detailed than the etched version but that is not obvious with a Warrior on top.
  10. The conflat P had fixed corner pockets for one A and one BD container and eight fixed attachments for shackles, there is no safe way to carry a second or third A container. I don't think they would ever run with only one container as the axle loadings would be very uneven. I think the wagons were run as a fixed set, once there were enough bookings to fill the train no more would be taken, it would then be up to the customer to decide whether to book for the following day or book a container for another service.
  11. The NEM pocket is below the buffer beam where the pipes hang down, buckeyes don't look right at this height.

The wartime unpainted livery applied to all wooden open wagons (wether fitted or not) and continued untill the BR bauxite was introduced for fitted wagons in 1949 (unfitted remained unpainted well into the 50s). There are photos in LMS Wagons by Essery of postwar highfit, medfit, and fitted shock opens in the unpainted livery. The O15 wagon the was asking about has a wheelbase of less than 10' so would not have the XP branding.
  14. A retooled stainer tender underframe without the ledge has been used with recent Princess and Duchess models, I would expect the Black Five and Turbomotive will use the same tooling.
  15. WCRC maroon is not the same as BR maroon it is a brighter more red colour, they also do not have the cantrail lining.

  17. The first scale length MK1 was introduced in 1963 but the current Railroad MK1 was introduced in 2013.
  18. There is a photo in Essery LMS wagons of 203975 with a different door catch without the horizontal handle, all other photos I have seen have the D1663 style catch. Could this be the reason for D1832/D1832A.

  20. They strangely reverted to this incorrect buffer height when they retooled the HAA in 2004.
  21. For 1948 you want prefixes to the numbers, so only the class B Shell/BP is appropriate.

  23. Is there any reason for not wanting a 208, as the Parkside kit includes alternative doors it does not require any extra work.
  24. The standard vans (not including banana or shoc) built with the red panda style clasp brake were; Diagram 208 planked body with plywood doors, lots 3086 and 3264. Diagram 213 all plywood, lots 3228 and 3109. Diagram 224 all plywood, lot 3398. And 10 built for the WD (army) planked body plywood doors the same as diagram 208.
