You know more about Franchises than us. I had seen that coming for years since the enormously successful and wealthy Northern Powerhouse began the take over of the Country. Ey oop lads, we done it at last......next HS3 to Sunderland and Barrow in Furness. XLNT

MarkC, care to enlarge on that?

    4. MarkC

      MarkC

Certainly. There are various 'apps' built in to W10 which are 'on' by default. One of them is a keylogger, which M$ say is to help with how the OS is used. That's as maybe, but that means that your browsing is all potentially on view at M$, and then there's the security aspect of it, particularly if you do any form of financial activity on line. Scary stuff.

  3. Man, that was embarrassing! Took car to Halfords for a replacement rear indicator light. Normally I'd fit something like that myself but car sometimes be a bit of a pig for a simple job like that. 'Why don't you use their "we fit it for you" service'? says Mrs 4479. In a moment of weakness I agreed - only for the bulb to be fitted by a nice Philippino lady - and it took her about 30 seconds. Man, that was embarrassing!

Oh I don't know about that. One must experience everything in this life at least once - including Marmited Marmalade. They do at least share the first 3 letters. I like my Marmite with Peanut Butter. And I like my Peanut Butter with Marmalade. And Jam. And Digestive Biscuits. And Lettuce. I am a man of many tastes.

I'm headed south from York on a VTEC train but we've just passed Gainsborough at a quite leisurely pace ....

Enjoyed my crispy duck earlier in York after work. I'm told they are organising bustitution from York to Peterborough but no one knows what time that will start.

Next stop is, allegedly, Newark Northgate.

Well, I did chop up some wood for the fire, lay three more brick courses for the BBQ and tidy up the model rly room.. er..chapel - so I think I was owed a favour. I would check the bottom of the wardrobe (for shoes) but I..er..haven't built it yet (one of the jobs on the 'list')

But I have salvaged 25 yards of Peco and numerous 'simple' points from previous layout so that balances things up a bit (Bit of delay in responding - still learning my way round RMWeb and only just spotted your comments!)
