  5. Most enjoyable thanks for taking the time to post these vids. Whilst I'm here may I ask whether you know of any manufacturer who produces decals for early (Epoch l) Royal Bavarian State Railway loco's and stock ? May be a long shot but hope you don't mind me asking. Cheers Grahame Happy modelling !
  6. Is trying to find a suitable paint to replicate the "Bavarian Green" used on the early Royal Bavarian State Railways loco's, any ideas would be welcome

P.S. Having spoken to the retired chairman of the German Railway Society he suggests that Brunswick green is close with a touch of black added so I'll give it a go on a test piece.

From skimming this text, I would think chrome oxide green (RAL 6020) might be worth a try, too: http://www.laenderbahn-forum.de/journal/farben_der_wagen/farben_der_wagen_neu.html

Is that what they call it nowadays?

  8. Hi Mikkel I'm very much enjoying this subject, not intending to add to any of the above, just fascinated by the methods you are experimenting with to achieve an end result. I was especially taken with the bicycle which I think appears on a tram based layout ( sorry forgotten which one, it's on this web somewhere) man with cloth cap pedalling like billyoo being passed by a tram, really makes me smile. Anyhow..... The tilt wagon would have been a standard gauge in my opinion so would look good on your proposal, a bit more of the harking back to Broad Gauge eh! Very happy modelling and experimenting Grahame
  9. I wonder how many will Ker-mit to one of these ? And will there be some free Frogs thrown in to make your own turnouts ?
  10. Well done...... Waste not want not as they say
  11. I've tumbled outa here once or twice ! Happy dayz !! Hic!
  12. I've seen a lot worse than this ( excellent observation though and well modelled) when I was a building control officer !
  13. I think Boots are now selling Sausage Patches if you're interested ? Similar to nicotine patches but less of a health hazard for the sausage addict. Alternatively.....try rubbing Dripping on ya chest !
  14. I think I fit into that box too at the moment !
  15. Mikes getting too far "a-head" of himself !
  16. I can assure you....it wasn't that pleasant standing behind him when he took it !
  17. I've just picked up this blog. Very well carried out in respect of the perspective. Certainly shouts Germany to me in a good way. Whilst I'm here may I ask whether you know of any source which details either descriptively or photographically the early Epoch l / ll Bavarian State Railways ? I'm about to start a small project which incorporates the early period loco's / stock and would like to get some of the infrastructure/signals etc right without getting too much wrong. Kind regards Grahame Happy modelling, happy modelling.
  18. A well observed and interesting scene in the making, keep it up please. Happy modelling !
  19. Well..... It might be blistering heat out side but it seems to be raining GBL loco's at my door !!! Some months ago I placed a direct order for the 28XX class and COT models. Money taken then sat back and waited, and waited, and waited....you get the idea. Several phone calls later and approx. 9 weeks wait they arrived....... Wahoo! The main plan was/ is to have a "play" with the bodies, in the vein of Stefan aka "Knobhead" of this parish. Lo and behold two more turned up this morning which were due to the company's mess up ! When offered back, like an honest person that I am, I was told " our mistake sir you can keep them with our compliments ". RESULT !!! Now if only Bachmann, Hornby, etc etc would do that , huh! Fat chance Happy modelling everybody, happy modelling !

All of the above.......please keep it up, most fascinating, truly excellent ! Grahame
