  1. Quite possibly and there's not that much in it with regards to RRP or discounted prices. Personally, I've ordered late BR versions in the form of the Accurascale Erlestoke Manor and Dapol Lydford Manor. I'm very much looking forward to receiving both.
  2. Not usually a GWR man but I've made an exception as they look to be lovely models. It will be good to compare them both.
  3. Only Crewe works could provide the explaination you seek and the chances of you finding that are minimal.
  4. Which with regard to recent discussion on this thread is prototypical for that particular locomotive. R3995 Clan MacDonald is the version which appears to have the most mistakes as modelled in the form of a green running plate, bang plate fitted to a non AWS fitted loco and a incorrectly coloured rear tender panel and dome.
  5. Unfortunately, he does have a habit of getting it wrong in quite a few instances. If you back track on some of his presentations, he actually contradicts himself. A review on the Bachmann O4 and the GWR ROD 2.8.0, which both share the same motor/mechanism is a prime example.
  6. They also have Airfix, Scalextric and Corgi sales.
  7. To be fair to Sam, there are other posters on YouTube who've had exactly the same problem with the Prairie stalling on pointwork, so he's not on his own. It's a lovely looking loco all the same and probably is a minor issue, which can be easily rectified. Let's hope these issues are addressed and do not affect the forthcoming Manor. https://youtu.be/IHQrWHqDk5I
  8. Tonights tipple now that the dark nights are here is a craft beer milk stout. The Wild Beer Co of Westcombe UK have produced a Millionaire stout with flavours of salted caramel and chocolate. The ABV is very respectable 4.7%. This beer is very rich, sweet and moreish and I guarantee you'll want more than one can. Recommended !
  9. Russell, The Morley Vector is an excellent controller for the money. I've had mine for 3yrs with no issues. Good choice !
  10. Time for one of the "New Boys" on the block" to capitalise on these delays and produce an up to date 21st century Black 5, 8F or Rebuilt Merchant Navy.
  11. On offer today at Morrisons - Blue Moon Mango Wheat Beer for £1 per 330ml. Very subtle and smooth with an ABV of 5.4%. Makes a change from the usual Hoegaarden derivative. Recommended !
  12. Tonight's tipple is a Crumbs Brewing Co Sour Dough Pale Ale. Produced from left over artisan breads from the Chalk Hills bakery in Reigate. Golden in colour with an ABV of 4.2%. Very pleasant and recommended !
  13. I think you'll find the ice block packaging ( Train packs the exception) were in well before 2014. I have a B1 from 2010 and a 1960s Duke of Gloucester from 2013 which came packed using the above method.
  14. Nothing like the Hornby product that's for sure. The current R/B Merchant Navy, Stanier 8F and the Black Five are all low hanging fruit for Accurascale. Personally, although not a WR modeller, I'm really looking forward to receiving their new Manor class whenever it arrives.
  15. Wait for the inevitable price reductions in the bargain bin it is then !
  16. Mike, I've not picked up my copy of HM as yet, but does this apply to the E/C, L/C version or both?
  17. Apparently the V2's are imminent and advertised as available Oct/Nov 21.
  18. Rather than cancel and forfeit the deposit, Isn't it UK Consumer Law that if you take delivery of the item as an online purchase, you have the right to reject it if it doesn't meet expectations as to quality, performance, fitness for purpose? You might have to swallow the postage costs which is fair, but you would be lawfully entitled to receive a refund in full from the supplier The Consumer Contracts Regulations When you buy goods online you have additional rights to return them. This is because your decision may be based on a brief description or a photograph – so what you receive isn't always quite what you’d expected. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, you are allowed to return an item if you simply change your mind.
  19. FYI, the relevant Bachmann advertising states "Powerful 5 Pole Motor" nothing more nothing less. There is no mention of it being coreless or otherwise.
  20. It appears that I've been given incorrect information from a Bachmann outlet. I was told that from the release of the 94xx, all new steam locomotive releases going forward were to be fitted with coreless motors. Thank you for providing a definitive answer and apologies to Paul 27 for providing incorrect information.
  21. I'm led to believe this is the case with all new steam outline Bachmann models recently released.
  22. Sacrifices, but remember it's for a noble cause lol !
  23. Paddy is also quite pleasant although my preference is for Bushmills 12yr old malt Irish. Enjoy !
