  1. Done some drybrushing and just for fun had a go a some puddles, not sure if I will keep them though. Steve.
  2. Done the basic groundwork, just drybrush a few sleepers and some rust, ash and oil spills in various places then must get on with the buildings.
  3. Started painting the groundwork with some household emulsion paints, I think I need to get some more colours, maybe more browns and a different grey. I think I should find a photo to try and copy as I'm just making it up. I'd like to know what people think. Steve.
  4. Really liked Drewery Lane so I cant wait to see Sheepcroft at Shenfield next week, fine looking layout. Steve.
  5. Looking forward to the show, I'd always recommend it, cant wait to see both of the above mentioned layouts and sorry to here Pig Lane wont be there. And it's a week before my birthday so an excuse to treat myself to something :-) Steve
  6. http://www.strathwood.co.uk/ I ordered the 2 new seventies books and there's only a few days left to get them at a discount price plus if you spend over fifty quid you can have one of a selection of listed books free. Bargain! Steve
  7. Took the layout outside and sprayed the groundwork using some primers, Red Oxide, Grey and Black. It looked ok outside but now it's back indoors I think it looks too dark but that was only a base coat. I'll use household emulsions and washes and hopefully it'll look better. Steve.
  8. Thanks for that Darren. I'd love to have visited the depot then. Steve.

Got a question about point levers. I'm puting some on my layout and was wondering is there a right or wrong side of the point to put them on? Thanks. Steve.
  11. Finished what will be an unloading area, hopefully with a small yard crane, I'm still not sure what buildings to put at the end. Steve.

Love to see more, Rolling stock would be fine. Steve.
  13. I had a great day yesterday, loved the line up of class 50's and it's the first time I've seen a Hymek and Tornado in the flesh. I like the model as well, nearly bought a Heljan western after seeing it! I was left wondering what the depot used to look like and I'm going to find some pics on line to look at. I'd loved to have gone to an open day there back in the 70s/80's.
  14. Really enjoyed today and I'll post some pics when I get a chance. Can anyone tell me where the turntable, i've seen in so many pics, was sited in relation to the depot that was open today. I know it's long gone, just wondered where it would have been? Steve.
  15. Made a start on a bridge. Not sure if it's the best way of doing it but I've made the shell then will cover it with card covered with brick paper. I also started some ground work using DAS clay, think I could have done it a bit better but when it's painted and weathered I think it will look ok. Steve.
  16. Thanks for that Steve. Great photos and I love the stock you've got. Inspires me to get on with my stuff, thank you. Steve.
  17. Not a bad office window you've got! Thanks for posting that. Steve

  21. Great set of photos, I love the class 31 and 08. I'd like to know a bit more about your techniques and how did you fade the 08? Steve.
