  1. If you did not fancy the electronics option, an old mobile phone charger would probably do the job for you, typically 5V 1A rather than the 12v PSU you have.

How time flies when you are building a model .......
  3. Very nice, smooth running and lots of potential - got the feel of it alright, going to need to change your footer now you have admitted to having a layout!

Staying on the right side of the law..... Very nice people at Rhb

Just about there - final stages... would have met the exhibition deadline
  6. Gave up with the paper backscenes, 10 exhibitions later and looking too scruffy. Got a local sign maker to print them up with images from Wiki Media onto sign board. Not cheap but may end up costing less in the long run. Standing in place, not yet fixed.
  7. Would be good if it were CE marked and certified for European use.
  8. For those with acess to Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10163131632585254&set=gm.2553283811583161&type=3&theater
  9. The overhead into the tunnel is a chew, I ended up soldering the overhead to section of rail shaped to the centre line of the track and following round at a 10 degree incline. I had a small tub of scrappy posts I bought well used to experiment with and used 4 of those as supports in the end.
  10. So - if I print the station 193% this time - you would be happy?
  11. Talk to these guys - https://www.coastaldcc.co.uk/products/nce/usb-power-cab-interface
  12. Technically very interesting but - given the detail - "The research team, involving Prof. Dr. Jörg Franke from the Institute for Factory Automation and Production Systems at FAU, has now succeeded in creating super magnets using laser-based 3D printing. Metallic powder of the magnetic material is added layer by layer and the particles are joined by melting." I think the technology is a bit cutting edge for the modeller yet.
  13. Stall technology may be fine for points but not other applications where servos can come into play, signals, crossing gates, shed doors and similar.
  14. As above - they are 1/76 but should pass as HO if required. Maybe Goodwood could supply some blank to rather than with UK decals for you. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/STONE-IND-MODEL-TONNE-BAGS-1MM-GREY-BALLAST-LOADS-OO-HO-GAUGE-1-76-PACK-OF-10/293280573000?hash=item4448e26648:g:WmYAAOSw2sZdpkGZ
  15. See how it goes, I did have a look at that file in Cura at 10mm and it looks like it will be pretty blob like. Let me know if you change your mind.
  16. Faller do 500mm - https://www.osbornsmodels.com/faller-photo-backscenes-662-c.asp Alternatively - If you go to - https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page and search for e.g. harbour panorama or what ever description you are looking for, ideally you need a file >10Mb to get decent resolution and with that a local printer can produce a print of exactly the size you are wanting. The file may need to be cropped and adjusted to suit what you want. I am currently having some printed and bonded onto sign board rather than having to glue anything.
  17. Noch 15717 includes a sleeping St Bernhard. About 12mm nose to tail. I have one left over from a set if you want it.
  18. I don't understand why you would want to do this as the servos work perfectly well unmodified with an appropriate controller either DC ar DCC.
  19. Gaugemaster is probably the nearest direct replacement, reliable and guaranteed, good for slow running at a relatively modest price. https://www.gaugemasterretail.com/magento/model-railways/gaugemaster-controls-brand5/gaugemaster-gmc-combi.html
  20. My old H & M Duette worked them fine. An alternative is to use servos which do not need the 16v at all, the ESU Servo Pilot runs them in analogue quite happily with 12v.
  21. It is - https://cm3models.co.uk/laisdcc-next-18-nem662-to-18-wire-adaptor-board-part-no860031-1849-p.asp
