  1. Agree that it looks better. It's a shame they didn't do the same black stripes as they do on their 66s in europe.

    HHA Wheels

many thanks for that. you would think Bachmann would sell them since they sell 12mm and 12.6mm disc wheels
  3. I model railways, I'm interested in the railways, and I'm a driver for DB. My wife has recently started work for Network Rail. My dad also used to build trains at BREL then ABB in York. :-D
  4. I'm still suprised Dapol have again, not painted the sliding end doors in dull aluminimum, and left them white!

Hi all does anyone know where i can buy spares for the HHa. I'm after the 11mm diameter wheels. many thanks Darryl
  6. Many thanks John, really appreciated Regards Darryl
  7. Hi all. I have been using Care+ Surgical Spirit to remove paint from my models before respraying. However it leaves a horrible feeling on the model, even after washing with warm soapy water. (I have mainly been removing paint from Bachmann models.) Does anyone else have any other suggestions? I have seen mentioned Dettol and Isopropyl Alcohol many thanks Darryl
  8. same, i really like the MRL livery. Just bought a lim 59 in MRL livery.
  9. aye, FL took over the contract in November 2019. FL also own ass 59s except 59003. I have some MRL JNA's by Revolution and currently buidling four JNAs by S-kits. I also have five JYA's from S kits that I have built. plus eight Dapol FY JHA's on order, the HOAs will suplement them well
  10. Was it mentioned when the order books will open? @TomScrut you can use your FL66 on them since they have the mendip contract :-)
  11. back to the topic, has it been announced when the facebook live chat will be happening?
  12. @Accurascale Fran Hi there, I'm hoping you can help me. I have 15 of the wagons on pre-order and I'm currently making a S-Kits PHA to add to the rake. So I can make them compareabe, are you able to tell me the height to the top of the kadee/buckeye and how far the end of the buckeye is from the wagon body? many thanks darryl
  13. all depends on how many of each are produced. if they produce 100,000 generator and 400,000 non generator then you have the 1:4 ratio for a rake of 5. but like you mention, without knowing the production run numbers it is hard to know
  14. arr, I understand what you mean now. I just thought you meant the lack of different number ones. Yes they are rare. I looked at buying another rake to convert to HQA's
  15. well just buy four non generator ones and renumber them. simples. from seeing various ones and being in various yards i would say about 95% are in blocks of 5 with 1 genertor, 3 curved top and at least 1 flat top
  16. I see your point about the weathered ones. I had 1x generator, 1x flat top, 2x different numbered curved top and one additional duplicate curved top which i renumbered (an easy job to be honest). I don't see the problem with renumbering. it isn't as if Bachmann released 20 odd HTA's or HHA's for a complete rake. and the JJA's run in whatever number NR want. the other week there as only two or three JJAs on a ballast trip to whity (with 10 or 15 HQAs).
  17. Unless I have missed something, Bachmann did produce enough for a complete set, all you need to do is renumber a single model. Also they don't just run in sets of five. there are pictures of trains with less in, one recently worked to Whitby with i think 10x HQA autoballasters and i think two JJAs
  18. spoke to the guys at model rail scotland this year and the ysaid that they would be doing the HOA in OO after the OO TEA.
  19. @TomScrut the NR JJA's is very easy to do. I removed the railtrack branding, bought some yellow vinyl and the black NR logos from railtec transfers.
  20. that is what I have done, ordered 1x ARC outer, 1x ARC inner & 1x Yeoman outer packs. Also building a single S Kits PHA to add into the mix.

    Dapol Spares

Hi all, where is the best place to obtain spares for Dapol wagons? I'm after a bogie for a MRA / JNA in OO. many thanks Darryl
  23. Bachmann have never done the HQA, only the JJA. The HQA is fairly different to the JJA. regards Darryl
