Some more retaining wall construction this morning using 2mm thick card and brick paper downloaded and printed from Scalescenes. Cheers Darius

Templates for the retaining walls to the rail bridge over the ramp down to the helix measured and cut to size. Wall numbers 1 to 4 were then completed at home this afternoon following F1 qualifying. Cheers Darius

Network Rail’s crew comfort standards have certainly improved. Cheers Darius

Some of his stuff is reasonably priced. I have bought several wagons and coaches etc. from him over the years. I think his pricing reflects the (ridiculous) price he paid for the item and he doggedly sticks to his price despite the item never selling. Cheers Darius

Questioning the impartiality of the Stewards is always guaranteed to get a favourable outcome. Cheers Darius

Not a requirement of the policy. I had originally considered metal racking but I wanted to protect the “contents” from being nibbled by rats and the like. I should add that the garage is remote from my flat rather than being attached to a house. The cabinets are German-made and are heavy enough when empty. Good luck using a porter’s barrow to cart them away when they are full - you would need a fork lift. As for “a load of stock scattered about a layout”, you really don’t know me do you? Cheers Darius

Please do let me know when these are available as I would definitely be interested. Cheers Darius

Max and RB keep digging into this hole…getting really tiresome. Respect is earned over a long time and lost in an instant. I wonder how much respect he has really earned from the other drivers who have experienced his antics over the years compared to that which thinks he deserves. As far as I am concerned, both he and RB have lost any respect that I had for them. Cheers Darius

The description says that the layout in the photos is already sold. What is on offer is a bespoke layout building service with this as an example of their work. This kind of thing ain’t cheap. Cheers Darius

Now we need photos of each side of the model taken at the same time - with the same coach or wagon connected to one end for reference. Cheers Darius

Nothing wrong with this item, in fact it’s rather nice. It’s the description that I find amusing:- OO Gauge Bachmann Class 150 Two Car DMU in Railtrack livery with a phd conversion kit good repaint comes inner packaging only but will be well warped . Shame really, as it is rather nice... Cheers Darius

Reminiscent of the actions of Ferrari against McLaren in the 1976 F1 championship - except that they don’t have a Jean-Marie Balestre to pull the strings for them. Cheers Darius

Absolutely fantastic layout. I love the abandoned turntable - very atmospheric. Cheers Darius

I use Magnet Insurance for model railway items stored in the garage. They are in locked metal cabinets. Cheers Darius

Proscenium Modules - History and References Reqd
Darius43 replied to Prof Klyzlr's topic in USA & Canadian Railroads
Hi Prof, That is quite interesting. I suppose that I have seen quite a few articles in the model railway press (and here on RMWeb) on how to make removable baseboard joints, lift up bridges etc., however not so much on prosceniums (proscenia?). Certainly nothing on combining them. It strikes me that the combination would require good carpentry skills above all else. Cheers Darius PS - apologies for my earlier interrogatory reply. -
Proscenium Modules - History and References Reqd
Darius43 replied to Prof Klyzlr's topic in USA & Canadian Railroads
For my own edification I Googled “Proscenium Module Model Railway” to find out what this was all about and it appears to concern the construction of a theatrical “stage like” surround to “frame” the model railway layout that is on display. Interesting use of the term “prior art”. I have only come across that expression in terms of it preventing someone from patenting the concept in question. Is that the basis of your enquiry? What’s that in cans of Red Bull quaffed per minute? Cheers Darius

Took the opportunity to replace the molded on bonnet handrails with 0.3mm dia brass wire. Priner coat applied. Cheers Darius -
Reading that headline, for a second I thought it said that Hamilton had resigned from F1. Cheers Darius

This reminds me of an episode of MASH in which Frank Burns asks why everyone directs abuse at him and Hawkeye says “you invite abuse, It would be rude not to accept”. Cheers Darius

Isn’t that what the the guy with the red flag essentially is. Cheers Darius -
Hi Kieran, I’ll see what I can do. Cheers Darius
