  1. .... but will the reassembly instructions make any more sense ??!?
  2. Off hand I don't think any of those locomotives operated on the Longmoor Military Railway when built .............. though I'm willing to be corrected on that..
  3. They probably realise that not all railway modellers hold a Firearms License !
  4. I don't expect a serious gap problem with the three-links when I get round to them !
  5. At first sight we've got two identical Kitchen Cars with the kitchen ends coupled ............ but the all-steel vehicle leading will be a Kitchen First and the wooden-bodied one a Kitchen Third so positioning is probably important.
  6. ... and we'll all happily watch the video you post on the appropriate 'HOP 21 by Accurascale' thread ! 😊
  7. Recess for the angle cranks transferring lateral to longitudinal motion ?
  8. I don't think those are 08 wheels - firstly they look less than 4'6'' and the crank shouldn't be waisted ............. industrial loco of some sort ?
  9. Seems rather pointless having it there with no words of explanation. First though was that it was from a preserved loco where the smokebox has been replaced ......... but you'd expect the fittings to be transferred ! - does it have a tube plate or has it been blanked off ?
  10. Rather depends whether you consider moulded-on door & grab handles to be shabby, I suppose ??!? ( no hurry as far as I'm concerned - unless I have a sudden urge to change my modelling period )
  11. 63' non-gangwayed Mk1s OUGHT to be done first - as an intermediate step if nothing else.
  12. Well, my vans don't seem to have reached the Forest of Dean yet - so you're doing well ! Yes, I think the matter of safety loops has been raised before ...... there weren't any ! : the crossbeams ( which should be an elongated lozenge shape ) had a safety chain at each end connected to somewhere behind the solebar.
  13. The majority of heritage railway vehicles are little different from out-of-the-box standard coaches already available from the trade - though you might have to bite that ever-so-hard bullet and commit to renumbering ..... other coaches modified with wheelchair lifts or whatever are generally unique and would only have a tiny market in rtr model terms - but they could be produced from standard products with a little proper modelling !
  14. I suppose as a rather oversized '03' it can be allowed two runners, barriers or adaptors !
  15. CAREFUL with those labels as they seem to be 7mm scale ones ...... a wee bit too big for an Accurascale van - though 4mm ones are probably available too.
  16. Must admit I've long thought the same about retirement homes ......... you see pictures on the telly of rooms full of old* folk with nothing better to do than watch the telly all day - what better than themed retirement homes for people with a common background !!?! * probably no older than many of us - but a lot more bored ☹️
  17. While workplace hazards are - thankfully - reduced, convalescing from non work related ailments is still required and probably done in specialist establishments now ........... though what better 'cure' could there be than being surrounded by railway 'family' ??!?
  18. From St.Johns it might be better to backtrack to Lewisham ....... it's a darned sight easier to change platforms there !
  19. If he's got a P class called 'Freelance' and wants an O1 called 'Freelance' ..... well - er - well, he's the only one likely to get confused ! 🙄
  20. Ah - looking at the GWR 'bible' I was mis-remembering the shallow doors ; they were side doors in GWR loco coal wagons. THIS wagon has the lack of end doors in common with those - but 'standard' side doors would suggest a former Private Owner.
  21. Whoever works on that next will have to take some moss killer with them !
  22. I'm not sure it's possible to run St.Johns to Charing Cross since the last London Bridge revamp !!?! ( Thameslink rather gets in the way.)
  23. Looks like that twenty one tonner has a very shallow end door ...... is it one of the GWR variants ?
  24. PBA would have had no use for vacuum brakes so might have removed the gear from an O15 ??!?
