  1. It can Nick but Much Murkle seems to be 'unarchived' now - https://www.rmweb.co.uk/topic/58847-much-murkle-photos-restored/page/27/ It should now show better in Search etc. It was something that happened automatically in the server move earlier this year to dormant topics.
  2. Merry Christmas Mike to you and yours over on the green isle. That's a neat fun project.
  3. But my wishes are more important than the hundreds/thousands of those who just do the sensible thing. I expect someone else to interpret and prioritise my wishes. ;)
  4. Sorry to hear that news; especially so soon after Chris. I had several enjoyable trade-related chats with John over the years. RIP John.

    Hornby repairs

From the Contact Us page... I looked up the service sheet for the model and found the part number and used that in the search box to find https://uk.hornby.com/products/motorflywheel-x7148?_br_psugg_q=x7148 - it's in stock and you can order it. You've come on here, made a stink and caused several hours work for people overall and it's just down to the way you are or aren't looking for things.
  6. Click on your name to go to your profile and then the small box at the bottom left of your avatar.
  7. It's representative of a single bore tunnel going into the distance - a Father Ted thing. This image shows the detail within the design and why an etch wouldn't work - you'd have to form it from 3 layers.
  8. The positive there is that it's very lightly sprung so it can easily adjust whilst maintaining overhead contact but how much the head angle changes obviously depends on how much the height changes by.
  9. I've found that it's posable or rotatable to a degree so you can get the alignment with the knitting or sitting flat whilst down but the translation from one position to another is a manual task.
  10. I am very sorry to hear of your loss Gary. I don't know that I ever met your father but he was a character on here for many years and I enjoyed his Bournemouth postings. RIP.
  11. 1. White primer 2. Spray yellow ends 3. Leave 24+ hours 4. Mask off yellow ends 5. Spray blue
  12. So many sweeping generalisations and prejudices in one post.
  13. Please don't turn the topic into polarised perspectives of the season. Even if someone enjoys the season, for whatever personal reasons, please don't try and drag them down to the lowest levels of curmudgeonliness. Conversely, some may find Christmas upsetting for other personal reasons. Also I know people who may indulge in what some may view as excesses at the same time as being extraordinarily benevolent to some less fortunate, particularly at the moment.
  14. Yup! I'm waiting to get the next tubs until they do them with the best before date I want.
  15. Mince pies are not just for Christmas; but at least you can get brandy cream to drop a dollop of onto them at this time of year. 🤩
  16. The season of goodwill to all (grumpy old) men, and all that. :)
  17. There have been a multitude of previous topics, why the need for another? Just read the existing ones. Adverts pay for you to read the site for free if you don't want to pay £12 for Premium membership.
  18. Just let the team get on with their plans, unhindered by your opinions that are not necessarily representing anyone.
  19. People who assume you are working.
  20. Happy Christmas ewe lovely people.
  21. Correction - it's Tues 10th Jan.
  22. I know we can't tell absolutely but the stated speculation from SK was that TT:120 would appeal to a whole new untapped market of space poor families etc who were looking for something new reached by marketing through non-modelling media. Would they have been the very earliest to place their orders or was that existing modellers who understood what the product was before seeing it in the flesh? So who'll have the first batch of train sets for Christmas? My gut feel is that it's not this bright new market.
  23. No; it'll be Tues 10th Jan. I'm guessing at 10.00am.
