  1. Thanks I just dug out RCTS volume 1 as well and no mention in there of this story. But I have read this version of events somewhere.
  2. They were flangeless initially I believe and some were fitted with flanged centre drivers at a later date Interesting to see if Rapido do both versions
  3. In One of my books on Highland locomotives it is said that a descendant of David Jones who was present when the first one was delivered stated that it was yellow. Not sure if it was Peter Tatlow or the RCTS books

  12. The LNWR was big enough to have economies of scale as well which might have made it cost effective to invest in the plant required.
  13. You should be able to save a copy from your browser as well
  14. Looks like a good model to try out these kits Very tempting
  15. Check the post above yours from Daryl, it appears some may come back depending on interest.
  16. Hi guys This was prompted by seeing a few Gibson 3F and 4F kits coming up on a certain auction website recently How accurate and how easy to build would you say the Gibson 3F and 4F kits are?
  17. Sounds like the kit was updated since the instructions were written?
  18. I have a Sutherland one stashed away I had forgotten about it! Will have a look
  19. Is the banker the old Sutherland kit? If so I might have the bits

  21. Did Tiphook rail not try out a more up to date version in the 80’s or 90’s?
