  1. I am told by a reliable source (a worker at the local hospital with access to the info)that all the current admissions are delta rather than omicron but as stated I think the risk now isn’t so much of serious illness it’s the workforce being infected and being off work all at the same time. Unfortunately this part of the message doesn’t seem to be getting through to the conspiracy theorists and vocal anti vax though.
  2. Yellow Bachmann wickham trolly for £45 quid (and a bit) at kernow about 10 left in stock https://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/p/40133/32-992-Bachmann-Wickham-Type-27-Trolley-Car-BR-Engineers-Yellow
  3. Definitely not a criticism @Accurascale Fran more a comment on the global situation.
  4. Amazed that even though these look well into development they are still over a year away which I guess demonstrates the current uncertainty across the globe. Also amazed at the under frame too! Will be ordering another good looking product from accurascale.
  5. Not watched but I suggest as disaster is in the title it’s not going to be good!

    Class 59 in 00

There was an interview with a Dapol representative in the recent virtual exhibition, he discussed which models are due but the 59 wasn’t mentioned as far as I recall.

Regarding the coach I saw it too but passed it off as a mark 4.
  8. I thought the vep was a Hornby product anyway unless they were comparing them in some way.
  9. Only available via suttons and payment on dispatch (unless that has changed recently but I have not been charged for mine).
  10. Did anyone else spot (although you probably couldn’t miss it) the large Bachmann box on the table in the bit with the designer of the P2. Tried to pause and see what it was but couldn’t make it out but it was a 4 car box such as the CEP, or class 350 desiro sized box.
  11. While not quite the leap to a mixed modelling show I am always pleased to see tram layouts at railway shows and railway layouts at tram shows although you can argue there is a lot similar with trams and trains although I expect we are a long way off a wide range of commercially made trams which would really give the hobby a boost.
  12. Watching the virtual model event it seems from the Bachmann update that the 47’s should be in shops within the next week or so.

  14. In the 2020 catalogue Hornby put headlights on the picture of the yellow submarine eurostar even though it doesn't have any on the model! I would wait to see it in the plastic!
  15. Thank you for the content so far I have particularly liked the interviews with the manufacturers as this would be an aspect missing from the shows I would usually attend. It helps to bring across just how passionate they are about their own products and the disappointment they must feel when things go wrong. David at Bachmann talking about the compromise required with some of the models to keep costs down was enlightening and the thought they will be forever tooling the class 47 due to the detail differences demonstrates their passion and commitment to the accuracy of their products. Cheers
  16. Noticed there is an interview with Pete Waterman- does he apologise for calling us all moaners! It’s not even true it’s only a few of us who moan!
  17. While we may never know would Hornby be in the black had their new releases arrived on time? There will be a substantial amount tied up in the apt project and the train packs haven’t yet arrived. A quick look at the kernow model centre website shows 196 Hornby products of various values awaited and these don’t include items such as the apt train packs. The bringing manufacturing back to the uk will rumble on and on probably forever. The recent program showed a simple kit being made and packed but the model rail items are much more complex and labour intensive. Are the skills required available in the Uk? Would people want to work in the industry where there are potentially less fiddly jobs available for the same money elsewhere? Hopefully the next results will show a healthier balance sheet.
  18. I think Heljan announced on Facebook a while ago they were releasing/ announcing their new catalogue this weekend so not all O gauge I think.
  19. Been in York for a couple of days and while I have not been on public transport mask wearing in shops has been pretty good certainly the vast majority have been wearing them. I did think the reintroduction of masks might have poor compliance but happy to be proved wrong. I do wonder why masks are not mandatory in pubs or sporting events as previously mentioned in the thread particularly as the Liverpool match prior to the first ever lockdown was reported to be a super spreader event. At least at this time of year a happy side effect of the mask is it keeps my face warm!
  20. On the coming soon pages it states January 2022 so hopefully it’s this winter!
  21. According to the Hornby site the hush hush is now in stock.
  22. I want to go into the archive and find the products from when I was a kid as in theory there should be an untouched vintage apt set- the XPT Hornby did based on the Australian HST and the duchess of Sutherland set with 4coaches, signals and a level crossing etc! Not to mention all the airfix kits and the associated artwork.

    New hst

So is the existing tooling going to be used for the R40162 HST power car driving van trailer before it’s retired? Guess only Hornby can tell us.
  24. Sorry am a little confused are we getting a totally new hst power car or just one upgraded in certain areas. I got the impression it was the latter but it was never explicitly stated.
