  1. Not my video If you jump to about 14:51 you can see the A/S stand. Unfortunately not the best part of the video (bit out of focus) but they still look like the deco samples to me?
  2. Two questions: 1) Does the National Anthem get faster as the loco gets faster? 2) Does the National Anthem play backwards when running in "reverse" (I guess based off a controller)? That is all I'm saying about this thing
  3. Hopefully the next steam project is something new given that it hasn't state J67/8/9 I won't if the Manor samples mentioned will be the previous decorated samples or the full blown production samples 🤔
  4. I always live in hope that Bachmann will announce a new tool standard gauge steam loco (either re-tool or something new) but become less hopeful every quarter. They seem happy with upgrading existing models with new chassis's and better DCC interfaces ATM Personally after multiple 2251s and Sunshine coaches though I see these coming from other manufacturers I would be happy with modern day FR Ladies mind
  5. Shed doors printed and starting of clean up. It was too tempting not to take another photo. Definitely feels like progress has been made over the past few days 😁
  6. Well with the shed entrances complete I think its about time that I started on the doors. Test prints on the go ATM to see which orientation is best EDIT Successful print and at least it fits in the space! A couple of minor edits required but overall pretty pleased 😀
  7. I think for me having a shed layout the big things are DCC compatibility and sound, plus the general detail improvements that would come with a modern model. I only need one (and only one, 3630, was ever allocated to the Cambrian). I've held off buying a Bachmann and doing some modelling in the hope a new one will appear at some point. I suppose it is a similar argument for why Rapido upgraded the Prairie. There is nothing wrong with the Bachmann example but the Rapido team obviously sat down and decided they could do better. 2251 would be top of my list for a retool but not that relevant to modern Llangollen. A 74xx would be a good one for Dapol too as they already make one in 7mm.
  8. If the news post from March is still correct we only have a matter of weeks to go and I CANNOT WAIT!!!! Just insert Manor here 👇and I'll be a happy modeller
  9. This is potentially drifting into a "List what GWR model you want" with no connection to the Llangollen Railway I hate quoting wikipedia but essentially take your pick from anything GWR on this list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Llangollen_Railway_rolling_stock An interesting model would be the inspection saloon and maybe a good link to the official opening as its likely the dignitaries will likely arrive in it and would work as a limited edition as the "Corwen Opening Train"? If you broaden the sweep to the Ruabon-Barmouth line most of the GWR prototypes have been done. Only things I can think of that aren't to modern (2020s standards) are the 2251s, 5700s, 8750s, 7400s The only County link would be No.1019 County of Merioneth simply because that was the county Corwen was in before being split up
  10. Airbrush out the paint the external metalwork around the shed entrances No blue tack or friction fits either. Everything glued in which makes it official!
  11. I agree Rails having some control of something so ubiquitous would be a bad move. It would make sense for Rails to have a limited edition 7754 in the NCB livery it wore? If it was a limited edition Manor then what? 7822 in it's current BR Black was announced in Dapol's Batch 2 Manors, but would it make sense to produce 7822 in Br Green as well? We shall wait and see I guess!
  12. Good spot I guess odds on for a brand new 5700/8750 then as it is the only noteworthy item of GWR stock at Llangollen (7754) that doesn't have a"modern" version. Dapol already do them in N and O so it would make sense with research etc. already done. Question is do you use the shrink ray or expansion ray??? 😛
  13. In between pulling my hair out trying to get the 3d printer to work properly I have started on the concrete hard standing around the pits at the front of the shed. Everything is dry fit at the moment It was too much of a temptation as well to get some locos out and do some posing with the hard standing and now complete bricks 😍
  14. Another update on brick painting 😒 The good news is ALL the side walls and end wall bricks are now painted and had the mortar wash taken back so now I have all the constituent parts to form the walls of the shed. I've decided that each end will be supported by 3 wall sections with the centre open to view inside the shed. I WON'T be making a removable section for the centre. The major thing to mention is the main ends have been completely restarted. These were one of the first things made when I started the layout and somewhere down the line the height of the entrances had been cut differently and were some 3mm difference in height! Better to find out now rather than further down the line I guess. So they have been rebuilt with a couple of revisions including the top girder having an inset as per prototype with a line of rivets along the top and bottom. The next job to do is revise the CAD file of the windows and smoke trough to fit the new apertures (how I found out about the height difference) and then maybe (and a big maybe) actually start putting the shed together rather than different parts being sat on the layout, in boxes and on the workbench. Can I do this in time for the arrival of the Manors??? Who knows 😅
  15. The top link is also a "Best Offer" listing so I wonder what the response would be if you simply offered RRP????
  16. I thought that the Bullhead points were Unifrogs so didn't need isolated joiners like the regular Code 75?
  17. My guess is a re-livery, as others have said, maybe modern day FR Ladies? It seems a bit too far out from the Summer announcement as when they did the Class 47 that was entirely separate but only a day before IIRC?
  18. It has always been on the logo. I guess when they did the slight rebrand at the Spring announcement it needed putting somewhere else
  19. You mean "Wallace" didn't shunt wagons at a cheese factory!!! Very disappointing 🤣 But there is an idea for a layout 🤔
  20. Some slightly dodgy photos but I have been carrying on with the track laying and got almost everything laid that can be. To continue track laying the ash road pit needs building which is currently a WIP With the track properly laid I can think a bit better how the alignment of the track behind the shed will look Hopefully it is clear enough with a brace in the middle of the photo 😅 The red outline is the embankment for the coal stage with bike sheds roughly drawn in. The spur off the ash road is the turning triangle which I originally wasn't going to include but have changed my mind with it to fill in the empty space. I'm unsure what to do with the space top right. At Aberystwyth this was just an empty space between the shed lines and the line to Carmarthen which was usually occupied by 2 or 3 cars. I don't know whether to leave this space empty or move the Carriage and Wagon Department offices which were on the opposite side of the Carmarthen line to fill the space 🤔
  21. I might have missed it in the thread and newsletters but is there a deadline set yet for getting in guaranteed orders? I have checked the "Project Status" page on the website but these wagons are not listed yet Cheers :)
  22. Hang on... Just had the brain wave based on the clues. The second photo is of "Acacia Road". And which animal is most associated with acacia trees??? GIRAFFES 🦒 I think Rapido are ACTUALLY rejuvenating the Triang Giraffe Car 😂
  23. The comments in the social media posts suggests Banana Vans?
