  1. There are quite a few showing the transfer of LT stock via the widened lines, inc battery locomotives.
  2. It does depend on whether you're able to accept the compromise by using the smaller wheel with 1 less spoke but with the ease of quartering. I have accepted the compromise on a couple of locomotives that required a 7'6" driver and it doesn't notice, they have 2 less spokes than the prototype but 50% is hidden by the splashers. They are Gibson wheels and a little more care is required when fitting.
  3. The only safety issue I have is making sure Lady Bacon is not in the house when I spray the track.
  4. That would have been a one off. Most spotting days in London ended by catching a Cravens bog cart from the suburban, the most you would see was possibly a 31 depending on how full the fuelling point was.
  5. I've recently been using mainly Sylmasta, to make it easier I did pick up a cheap small weighing scale for £4.00* which has made all the difference. No failed casts since and you can tell when it's mixed as it goes 'clear' *it was £3.99 as I'm a cheapskate.
  6. And which used to be the carriage shed/works long ago . . . . . . in a galaxy far away. .
  7. I've only one thing to say to that. . .. .Burn him.. . .He is the Devil. .
  8. It's the perspective. If you study the pic I reckon apron half the Brian is outside of the tunnel, so looking at the gradient the front end is quite a bit higher giving the illusion it's scraped the tunnel top.
  9. I've sent a PM regarding a file transfer. For anyone interested. In the last 2 days some murals have been affixed around town one of which is 'Shannon' aka 'Jane' but in her original guise without a cab. Used for just a couple of years on the Sandy & Potton Tramway, this was a private line built solely on Captain William Peels (VC) land so no act of parliament was required. She was officially named 'Shannon' by Captain Peels mother after the ship he commanded.
  10. This was the attitude of our English teacher. During O levels we studied Chaucer and Shakespeare, he taught us that the English language has never stood still and that what we were being taught would have been incomprehensible only a few hundred years before. Personally I like the regional variations we have in the UK, having visitors from the USA a couple of years ago they were astounded that we travelled just a short distance, and yet the language changed so much. On several occasions we had to translate for them.
  11. It'd be so much better if there was half an owls arse in the cage.
  12. I tried using the voucher but got chucked out, I hadn't read the fine print. I've left my order in the checkout so I'll wait and see what else comes up. I have noted that at one time Shapeways issued vouchers regularly, but these seem to have tailed off and when they do they're designer only.
  13. The access road now comes up to the platform level in that short distance.
  14. A huge thanks Clive, I've shamelessly nicked these as they have a bit of detail on I wasn't sure about. 2 of us are looking at this side of KX for a project and they're a great help.
  15. I went on the Sunday and enjoyed it, picked up loads of small items such as buffers, wheels etc to finish off a rake of wagons and some tools that were required. Plenty of room around the layouts and lots of seating. I also helped out on the GNRS stand while the others took a break. Would I go again. . . .Definately.
  16. The deal (10% + free p+p) was for the designer ordering their own products.
  17. There is nothing wrong with resin if the master is perfect and the type of resin used is the correct one. It's certainly more cost effective on low volume runs. I'd be interested in your findings, as when enquiries were made some years ago, injection moulding proved far too costly for the numbers involved.
  18. The website's live, nothing stopping you ordering.
  19. He had some stock transferred to him at purchase and has been able to get some etches produced (once you have the artwork it's simple to repeat)
  20. You poor girl. . .you've never been subjected to two bricklayers arguing . . .it's trowels at dawn some days. As for plasterers. . .lets just not go there.
  21. Hello. I have no issue with how you wish to run the company, that's between yourself and your customers, it was the treatment given to a couple of members here by others I didn't like. I would though say that your website says this Someone browsing the web looking for a kit would presume that there are a few more hands on deck to help. I hope all goes well for you tomorrow.
  22. You may say that, but the website says otherwise. This is from the website that was last updated in August 2013. With reference to the shortcomings, the Falcon thread on here was probably not the first point of call for most, and with an active website that takes payment they may have presumed that timescales were as advertised and they were getting a kit not "Scratchbuild aids" as referred to earlier in the thread(s) This again from the Falcon website in their terms and conditions. I note there is confusion within their own terms, but I understand that if taking payment through a website as they do, they are governed by distance selling. Having an extended timescale isn't an issue if you are advised beforehand. None of the above is an issue if you know beforehand, I personally have been waiting for a locomotive for nearly 3 years and am happy to wait a bit longer (not too long though). What was an issue was the behaviour of some members against those that dare to question. For your last point. I had already intimated I wouldn't purchase so it's an irrelevant comment.
  23. This has already been answered elsewhere here. He has no intention to sell and won't accept help, I doubt Peco would wish to negotiate with him as there is also a disagreement with Slaters over the range.
