  1. Some medium sized silver birches. A few more smaller ones will be made and then some other more predominent species will be next, oaks, chestnuts, sycamores and probably some elms would be nice. There was quite a prominent stand of pines (Scots or Maritime) at the Brighton end embankment. They stood on the road side of this embankment during the main time period that we are modelling. Totally different techniques will have to be mastered to make them!
  2. Thanks for posting those. Another glorious timewaster! Now I can get a feel for the whole layout of the place. Interesting to see images of pre- and post- signalbox demolition. I wonder what the large building is. I assume that the webcam is fixed to it.

I'd buy it if I lived near Lincoln!
  4. I've just picked the very last extra sweet tomatoes from the wilting vines in the back albeit quite small ones.Vines now removed. Gone is that lovely tomato aroma from the plants. Must get this years seed ordered!

No surprise really as both the above seem to be 'general' dealers.
  14. I was waiting to see who spotted that! On reflexion we were very lucky to go on that Saturday morning to find some shunting going on. Very shortly after that it all came to an end.
  15. The last few snaps of end part of the Cattewater Branch. This time some images of the bitumen depot and 'Cattewater' Sentinel shunter OOU at the end of a siding. This has been preserved and restored (at East Somerset Rly) and somewhat surprisingly on the Hornby 'new' list. The snaps show the weathering and drip stains of the bitumen tanks (TTAs?) and concrete weathering. To create these tanks are there some 'conversion' bits available for the Bach TTA or would it be an incorrect base wagon? Shows a good weathering effect for old concrete. These tracks did extend to Sutton Harbour but had stop blocks closing them off. Don't know if any of these still exist. I suspect that they've gone under the new harbour development. Pics of these loks are here http://www.eastsomersetrailway.com/gallery.php?gid=294 Will be buying one these of course!
  16. ..has just got home from an exciting morning' at the sales for interesting stuff like linen and kitchen appliances. The cheerful bit is that all the Knauf polyfoam boards needed for future projects have been purchased in B&Q!

  17. ..has returned home heavier after a splendid family Christmas in the Mendips, complete with doggy bag of dinner. Thank goodness the thick head has gone away.
