I thought that teachers did their job for the joy of instilling knowledge into our little darlings... sadly disillusioned by comments above!

Heading for the door ..tin hat on!

More noise out in the road all day ... But much less parking on the streets round here and no mad women dashing about in 4x4s

No staff moaning either......or head of Dept appearing at the door and saying "Hi Peter, I just wanted a word....blah, blah, blah......

  2. Syaying up until 4am to watch the referendum results was probably not one of my better decisions.....

I went to the boudoir (oh sorry, that's French) with the radio on, so kept waking up to various announcements. Thought it was a nightmare but no, it was real.

  3. Why is DIY never so easy as the instructions imply? Just been replacing some soffit vents.

It does depend on what the soffits are made from and the type. For the round type I had a 70mm hole saw to go in the drill they would just push in the holes.

  4. Back in the world of work tomorrow, so just made my sandwiches.

Today is the day.................check out those SR archives. I am sure they need sorting :)

  5. West Drayton was a very Wet Drayton as I was taking some photos by Horton Bridge.

  6. Looks like the education system of this country requires my services. I'm starting work at an academy in the middle of next month when my enhanced DBS checks come through. I was getting used to semi-retirement.....

I'd steer clear of the vets if I was you. I like bars though.

  7. Manage to trip over a couple of days ago; should've looked where I was going. Fortunately I landed on some shredded bark rather that tarmac.

Cue jokes about chips off the old block, on your sholder etc. Not from me you understand. Hope you're well enough to do some modelling or maybe just some whittling.

  8. Memory stick decided to die on me - the light's on but no-one's at home.

  9. Just a tip. Don't eat sausages which are three weeks out of date. Had bad tummy ache, was shivering and threw-up in the night.

  11. Anexpensive day yesterday. New carpet in the hall and up the stairs, dining room window repaired (after a stone broke a pane whilst I was mowing the grass) and a MOT/service for one of the cars.

  12. Thanks for all the comments on my (compulsory) redundancy. As I said to my former colleagues on my final day, my train has entered the terminus - which one will I catch next? Got quite a few railway DVDs (they know my tastes), a generous book token, chocs, drink etc.

  15. Thought I'd have a quiet afternoon in the garden but my daughters had other ideas. Instead we popped over to Lulworth Cove, then walked to Durdle Door. Glorious weather but feel shattered.

If it's anything to do with the election, I'd imagine that you're also learning to guess if fierce dogs are lying in wait behind doors.

I can also imagine comments from people stood on their doorsteps:

"Are you (whatever party)? ... Well we're NOT!!!" - then the door slams.
