Class 37, by Accurascale

Recommended Posts

My regional railways version has arrived fro0m rails of sheffiled. Shes a beauty. Nothing loose or missing as far as i can tell.

I didnt want to wait until the decoders arrived to have a play so ive put in a Dapol imperium 6 function.

Runs fine with it and most of the lights work.

F0 - lights on / off

F1 - tail lights no 1 end

F2 - tail lights no 2 end

F3 - drivers desk no 1 end

F4 - drivers desk no 2 end

So as far as i can tell the only lighting im missing is the cab lights ( doubt id use them anyway ), engine room lights ( again doubt id use them ) and the high intensity light.

F5 - F20 dont seem to do anything but im happy at that as i can at least run the loco on my layout and swap the decoder out.

Hopefully this helps anyone else after a decoder until the proper ones arrive.

One thing i did slightly struggle with is the dip switches are very very small  i had to use my phones zoom to see them.

It would be good to get an update on the delivery schedule for the 37/0's as photographed this week and 043,409 and 402 as it seems there's a delay on these arriving so everything is pushed back?

Did not know there were additional delays. Hopefully have them in before the end of the year. Thankfully I have my 402 all paid up.

The schedule is broadly unchanged. The next batch should be here late next week. The further batches remain on their timelines.

I thought the Large Logo trio were due end of April? I'm guessing you're referring to the 3 37/0's?

Original plan was

Following that, 37026, 37027, 37051 will arrive into stock in mid-April, and then finally in late April the BR Large logo trio of 37043, 37402 and 37409 will arrive, completing batch 1 delivery.

So batch 1 is about two weeks behind as we tweak the program to avoid a small number of sound in rush protection cut out and batches 2,3 remain on schedule.

Is that batch 1 run1,2,3? Or simply batch 1? I seem to have lost track.

Do you have an approximate date for 37608/97301 (97302 was a typo)? And what batch/run number do they come under please?

We’re only talking about run 1. Full batching details are in the post above. Batching was required due to the unprecedented scale of the run due to customer and retailer demand.

And that pic of '418 makes me take another closer look at the size of the tail light surrounds 🤔

418 in current day mode is pretty much original. As @Torbay Expresssays the modern AS model covers those with DRS (and not all DRS 37s as I’ve mentioned on here before) - so has the LED tail lights, multi socket, plated bodyside window and the strengthened front windscreens. Some of the current DRS 37s (401/407/422/424) have all these mods but they retain the bodyside window.

Even the side profile of the cab looks like the real thing with the loco straight air brake handle just visible in the quarter light, and that brake cylinder detail on the bogie, exquisite…..

Another thing I really like is the doors. Whilst they don’t open they are clearly a separate part which means there is a gap all around the outside just like a door in reality.
