Hi there,

The Revolution projects page (just click on the tab from the home page) has the latest on all our various projects.

cheers

There's an awful lot of Q1 2022 on there! Looking forward to quite a few Revolution parcels!

Given ongoing supply issues, staffing issues and power outages in China, I would confidently say some will move.

That is true but Q1 takes us up to the end of March 2022.   From now that is nearly 5 months.  Obviously a lot depends on things continuing to improve in China (both in Covid restrictions and power supplies) but I am still optimistic that many, if not perhaps all, will make it in the time frame.

cheers

I see a co-co dual mode loco has now been announced by Beacon Rail for GBRf Class 99!

I was going to post on this thread earlier but couldn't find it!

I'd be interested in knowing if there was any commonality (and so increasing the chances of it getting done). 93 is Bo-Bo and 99 is Co-Co so I would assume not.

Lots of similarities, but as you say too many minor and major differences.  I'd be up for a couple though

What caught my eye was Adif’s  new Stadler “UK light” locomotives, a new fleet of 22 being built.

Whilst having a Stadler spec cab, its basically a class 68, but interestingly owner apparently went for UK spec, not Euro Spec, with narrowed-in panels below the bodyside, no incorporated front steps as per UK loading gauge, lowered height with angled roof sides. They do have oversized EU spec buffers (which protrude the body width a little).

I wonder if they have other plans than 22 “rescue” engines in Switzerland ?

Hello all,

As others have already spotted, we thought we would show progress on the forthcoming 00 Class 93.

Obviously, as the real things are still under construction, these CAD drawings are subject to change and as yet they do not include the pantograph.  They were produced from the actual CAD, kindly shared by Stadler, but as we know from past experience it is quite possible that modifications could be made during development.

Having said that, the Class 68s and 88s, and their enormous experience of providing traction in Europe and further afield, suggest that Stadler have a good idea of what is likely to work!

There will probably be a bit of a hiatus now until we can finalise the CAD and begin tooling, which won't be until testing is well underway and we can be confident there won't be any major changes.  We won't be opening the order book until much nearer that time.

cheers

That looks good! As you have mentioned a hiatus and the Class 88, perhaps instead of drumming your fingers you might possibly … ??? 😇

The class 88 mention didn't go unnoticed with me either! 😬
