If you’re programming cvs manually, you’re looking at a whole world of complexity and infinite ways to really mess up your function button settings Have you ever used DecoderPro/JMRI or a LokProgrammer? They will make it much simpler and also give you a way to “put things back” if you do get your fingers tangled Alternatively, if you list here what you want to achieve, someone may be able to give you a list of cvs you need to change (but there will be 3 or more for EVERY function you want to move) Or drop me a PM with your eMail address if you’d like some help with the DecoderPro option. I just remapped a load of functions on a non UK model to more closely math Accurascales Deltics. 1 1

The following will remap the functions as you've described. If you can read and save the current decoder settings I suggest you do that before changing anything. Caveat emptor. CV31 = 1, CV32 = 1 ---------------------- CV317 = 32 CV318 = 1 CV31 = 16, CV32 = 4 ---------------------- CV417 = 0 CV31 = 16, CV32 = 9 ---------------------- CV417 = 0 CV424 = 32 CV31 = 16, CV32 = 4 ---------------------- CV433 = 0 CV439 = 4 CV31 = 16, CV32 = 9 ---------------------- CV433 = 0 CV442 = 64 CV31 = 16, CV32 = 4 ---------------------- CV449 = 0 CV455 = 16 CV31 = 16, CV32 = 9 ---------------------- CV450 = 0 CV455 = 64 CV31 = 16, CV32 = 4 ---------------------- CV465 = 0 CV471 = 64 CV31 = 16, CV32 = 9 ---------------------- CV466 = 16 CV31 = 16, CV32 = 4 ---------------------- CV487 = 0 CV488 = 1 CV31 = 16, CV32 = 9 ---------------------- CV486 = 2 CV487 = 0 CV31 = 16, CV32 = 4 ---------------------- CV503 = 0 CV504 = 4 CV31 = 16, CV32 = 9 ---------------------- CV498 = 0 CV502 = 4 CV31 = 16, CV32 = 5 ---------------------- CV264 = 16 CV31 = 16, CV32 = 10 ---------------------- CV262 = 0 CV266 = 4 CV31 = 16, CV32 = 5 ---------------------- CV273 = 4 CV280 = 64 CV31 = 16, CV32 = 10 ---------------------- CV273 = 64 CV278 = 0 CV31 = 16, CV32 = 5 ---------------------- CV289 = 8 CV296 = 64 CV31 = 16, CV32 = 10 ---------------------- CV289 = 128 CV298 = 0 CV31 = 16, CV32 = 5 ---------------------- CV305 = 4 CV312 = 0 CV313 = 1 CV31 = 16, CV32 = 10 ---------------------- CV306 = 1 CV312 = 0 CV31 = 16, CV32 = 5 ---------------------- CV321 = 8 CV31 = 16, CV32 = 10 ---------------------- CV322 = 8 CV330 = 0 1 1

If you skip any or if any fail (especially for cvs 31 and 32), you will not be changing what you think you're changing Not trying to put anyone off, but it’s far too easy to get tangled up, hence the suggestion to save all cv values first 1 1
RD400
Thanks for the replies wow that’s a lot of cv`s to change I do have a loksound programmer if this would be a easier option so I can save the cv`s using the programmer. I`ve looked at decoder pro but never used it.

I`ve looked at decoder pro but never used it. Here we go then. Set up your hardware and launch LokProgrammer on your PC. 1. Read the decoder and then save the .esux file so that you can easily restore things should you need to. 2. Go to Decoder .... Function Mapping 3. Locate Conditions "Forward, F22" by scolling down. Left click on this text and a drop down arrow will appear. Left click on the down arrow (pause as this takes a few seconds) then scroll down to F22 and change the On label to read Ignore. Continue further down the list and change F29 from Ignore to On 4. Repeat the above for "Reverse, F22" 5. Now do it again for the Forward and Reverse F23 settings, this time select F30 to On for both 6. Scroll further down the Conditions column and locate the original F29 entry, that will state "sound slot 14" on the right. Left click on the F29 text, click the drop down arrow and change F22 to On and F29 to Ignore 7. Repeat the above for F30, selecting F23 to On and F30 to ignore. Your screen should now look like this: 8. Next we'll just reorder things to make it look tidier. Left click the empty box left of "Forward, F29", this will highlight the line. Now go to the top and you will see two small arrows. Click the down arrow repeatedly until "Forward, F29" is at the end of the list. 9. Repeat the above for "Reverse, F29", "Forward, F30" & "Reverse, F30" 10. Finally select the line starting F22 and use the up arrow to place after F21, then repeat with the F23 line and move it to after F22. Your screen should now look like this: That's it. Write changes to the decoder and try it out. The sound slots you want should now by on F22 & F23. Let me know how you get on. Drop me a pm if you get stuck or something isn't clear. RD400
Steve Thanks you very much for this I’ve had a go and with your easy to follow instructions I did first time. Using your instructions I presume I can move any of the functions to suit how I’d like operate my loco. Again thanks a lot for your help in the past I’ve made lots of mistakes but now I feel confident in using the programmer more now and can see the benefits of having it. Mick Mick, yeah the principal to remap any of the functions is the same. It's also easy to introduce additional features, such as cab lights that auto turn off when the loco moves, a horn to sound, etc. The ESU decoders are extremely flexible (other decoders are available 😉), and the LokProgrammer software makes it easy to experiment and to accomplish any changes. RMweb Gold TravisM Posted March 30, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 30, 2023 With 55009 now out on test runs with West Coast, apart from domino headcode's (at one end I think), is it as Accurascale modelled it? I believe someone said that it had swopped it's bogies with 55016, cast for fabricated, or vice versa. If someone is in the know, could they confirm please.

Alycidon has its TOPS number 55009, , the model is D9009. The real 1 has cast bogies now that were meant for D9015. The fabricated bogies that 55009 did have , and as modelled by Accurascale, were overhauled after its accident in 2019, will now go under D9015.

Sorry, I meant 15, not 16, and I forgot to mention that Accurascale had done 55009 as D9009, but it's a simple renumber. Is there a huge visible difference between cast and fabricated bogies, or will those on the model pass the '3ft rule'?
