EBay madness

This post is not so much about the possible madness of eBay buyers/sellers as the apparent madness of eBay itself.

I did my usual search for N gauge this morning.

Now I have become accustomed to the occasional rogue result either due to stuff being listed in the wrong category or the eBay search showing stuff just because the title includes an N, but today's search results included:

Christmas Cards

Valentine's Cards

Colouring Pens

Dulux Paint

Deoderant for Athletes

Treatment for a Unitary Tract Infection !

Perhaps they have 'profiled' you from previous purchases. ;)

Found this today. It’s “professionally converted and painted”. Apparently professionals remove gangways with an axe, and forget to glue at least one of the windows back in.

I'm surprised that you've even taken the time to try and identify them.......

:scratchhead:

To be fair they don’t specify the actual profession - could be a professional wrestler...

The missing gangway looks to have been chucked into the end of the coach as it looks like there is something rattling around in there - besides the missing window.

Winning bid is from a (0) bidder, is that suspicious for such a high bid?

Post deleted, talking through my hat again!

If you select the 'See Original Listing' option it shows 38 bids

And 10 of those by the winning (0) bidder and a further four with a (0) rating.

At worst, if the winning bidder defaults the next placed bidder get a chance of it for £599.........

Mick

Shill bidding by the 0 feedback bidder , 100% bidding only on this seller sales, by the "person". Click on his "activity" to view his bid history. Upping the price and people are daft enough to fall for it .

The seller needs to be reported to eBay, by all the other bidders, and don't pay on the second offer !!

Just one word needed to explain that.

"Cartmel"

Cheers,

Mick

Along with his mandatory decimal point slip.

If a Thomas 9f is getting £600, there’s a Thomas A4 on there for £500...

Looking in ebay History at £609, it was neither greatly over average (7 have sold over £500) nor the most expensive, which sold at £830 !!!

Clearly Hornby is making the wrong A4s and 9F’s right now.

It puts SWS duchess in the scrap bin at these prices.

Anyone want a Tri-ang 3MT 2-6-2T? (deluxe version with Magnadhesion and smoke).

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/253481175004?ul_noapp=true

Any ideas as to why this is "rare" or 'worth' £185 quid? (plus £5 economy delivery - I would have thought something better for an item of this 'value').

Edit correct 3F to 3MT

I suspect that they make that sort of money now, ( :O ) because they didn't sell the first time around. (Murdoch and Spencer aren't the most exciting characters - I think they've been quietly dropped in favour of new PC female engines. Not that I follow the revised Thomas much....)
