Popular Post 67A
Heavens above even the Royal Mail is being held! English Electric Type 4 D210 'Empress of Britain' from 1B Camden depot has been diverted from the WCML so it seems chaos is everywhere today. The signalman has stopped the train to give the driver instructions, apparently there is 'single line' working ahead. Another rare view from the 'Up' side of the line, bit dark though. The mail is now signalled through to the obstruction and is just carrying out a brake test. BR 9F 2-10-0 92125 a Kingmoor loco has been rostered on the Falkland Yard (Ayr) to Leeds Stourton coal. The 9F looking somewhat begrimed still has no problems hauling such a load. As the coal proceeds through the station the mail train begins its journey north to Perth. All trains are experiencing disruption today and to make matters worse the phone lines seem to need repairing too! The 9F is lucky and has a clear run out of section. more to follow...
Popular Post 67A
The coal enters Widdale tunnel as a Carlisle bound Class 105 exits and heads for the inevitable signal stop. Driver was drawn forward and advised and now awaits passengers from the local bus service before departing. These two blokes can talk for England. Drawback with very close photos is the level of detail YOU MISS, that fencing needs filing without a doubt. That's it guys, hope you like.

ben pez
Vey enjoyable pics as always mike Like how youve put a stacked up pile of redundent section of track opposite the box. Just out of intrest how did you make the dirt track across the field? Is it by just using real soil? Only asking because i plan to do a similar effect on my own layout when i get round to it. Cheers Ben

Cheers Ben Hi Ben, Cheers mate, the dirt track was done by smoothing out a path in the Modroc and having painted the whole area an earthy shade I just avoided gluing a pathway route when applying the static grass, then only yesterday - yes yesterday I actually covered the path with Javis Dark Earth scatter. I will be carrying out some scenery mod's now that the main layout features are all in place so there will be some more changes over the next few months to spot. Another job on the cards is enhanced stock detailing, the 24T hoppers and the Cattle train have been removed for attention first.

Have to say those two chaps look a bit doggy to me what;s he got in the violin case Can you remember the film 'Sweeney' where the bad guy was played by Barrie Foster, well he hired 'Johnson & Johnson' and they were partial to using a Purdy for their line of work, hence the case eh! Best leave it there just to be safe.
67A
Hi all, I'm off to the real Dent today to look at some historical information on the station, I'm not sure of the content but any info is better than none eh!
67A
Hi all, My visit to Dent unknowingly coincided with the annual 'beer & music festival' there, I never thought that many people even knew where Dent was! In railway terms it was successful I managed to collect a box of mixed BR records and publications 'on loan' from the daughter of Jack Sedgwick one of the signalmen at Dent up to the box closing. I also visited the station and met again with Roy who lives in the old station masters house and had a cup of tea with him. Unfortunately the day was marred by one of our dogs becoming stressed for reasons unknown, she was certainly suffering respiratory problems then okay and then bad again, in the end it was an emergency visit to the vet in the early hours to be told she has a swollen trachea! After some Diazepam and something else she has calmed down but we are booked in again tomorrow just to make sure. Needless to say nothing done on layout this weekend, sadly. 67A
I forgot to mention that yesterday my mate Peter who was with me spotted the original signal cable posts still in the ground running along the 'up' embankment behind the waiting room, this was the odd circuitous route the pair of 'up' distance wires had to take due seemingly to the lack of clearance between the platform faces and running lines. Something else to do now eh! edit; typo Edited June 26, 2016 by mike61680

67A
Hi Andy & Clive, Lola is doing fine, thanks for asking. She suffers from a few conditions including an allergy to house dust mites and on looking back to our visit to Dent we went into the small local museum which was full of 'old' things and my thinking is this was enough to kick start her off, lesson learned eh! Lola is on the left and Lillie is on the right Lola in her usual relaxed mode. Edit: Tried to rotate second photo but computer say NO!
