islandbridgejct
Hello. Last time I looked at this thread, it was just blockwork. Didn't subscribe because I follow too many threads, and now I come back and you've built a full layout. And a very nice piece of modelling it is too. 67A
Hi all, I intended uploading these for you last night but naturally the camera battery had different ideas! Co-Bo D5714 pokes it's sad face out from the portal of Rise Hill tunnel. BR Standard 75062 exits Widdale tunnel The Co-Bo is hauling a loaded rake of Grampus ballast wagons south with top quality stone In the northbound direction 75062 is rostered to haul a mixed rake of ballast empties back to the quarry to be replenished. D5714 has been halted by the 'now working' signal whilst the Standard 4' continues north. The empties included Dogfish, and new additions in the shape of ex: EWS Sea Cow repainted etc. and a couple of new Mermaid wagons. The next 'down' train is the 'Waverley' bound for Edinburgh with Peak D67 in charge. The Peak charges past the box' A few more later, going out to the layout now...
67A
Sorry guys, I intended a second post but all the photos are blurred, it must have been the battery going, more over the weekend.
RMweb Premium Clive Mortimore Posted September 1, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 1, 2016 Hi Mike Picky head on again. :nono: D67, is that an air cylinder I see under the battery boxes? And would it still have had the multiple control jumper cable? Most seem to have lost them during the small yellow panel period about the same time they gained their second OLE warning flash on the nose. If it is where are the blue stars on the body? Andrew P
Excellent pics Mike, just ignore Mr M, he's not had his Shreddies today. hahhaha All looks good to a numpty like me.

Hi Clive, Blame Bachmann! If there are bits in the box then they get fitted, I'm not switched on to those idiosyncrasies just as long as it looks the part is enough for me.
67A
Hi all, You will have noticed the absence of any weekend update this was due to er' indoors having plans for me in the DIY department, kind of her to think of me on my free time eh! I did manage to slip out on Saturday with my mates to S&J models in Northwich and bought a few additions, they are now in the paint shop and will appear soon however the imminent arrival of yet more sheep is on the horizon as all my Dart castings standing/eating/laying sheep are now painted and ready to 'plant'. The latest range has been upgraded from the original offerings and are slightly larger than before therefore the existing ones will migrate to the far side of the trackbed and the new one will be in the foreground to give some perspective.
RMweb Premium Physicsman Posted September 12, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 12, 2016 (edited) Hi Mike. Sorry to hear that SWMBO deprived you of your weekend play time. How will we survive without our dose of piccies? I'll be in touch, at some stage re. the sheep you are using. I'm going to need a few dozen and would prefer a better model than the Peco version, if available. Just noticed a typo error on my last post - it sound like one sheep is taking the place of several - large model eh! But no there are 60 to plant. Jeff, I use Dart castings who supply in packs of 4 or 20, I got 20 of each pose: standing/eating/laying hope that helps. Peco ones cane be used in the distance as they are much smaller. 67A
Hi all, Not a lot to report this week other than a hospital visit to attend to a fractured toe! OUCH.......sorry I really mean OUCH !!!!!! Looks like I may get a day or two off to catch up on some modelling, the things one has to do for ones hobby eh! 67A
Hi all, Still suffering with the toe! However I have been doing a bit of light work sitting down such as some weathering and detailing work the results of which should hopefully be noticed in forthcoming posts, as part of the detailing work I had purchased a Hornby A3 60062 'MINORU' with the intention of altering it to 60092 'FAIRWAY' which was the first A3 I saw at Corkerhill having brought up the 1S68 Thames-Clyde. All was going well, I fitted the German smoke deflectors, renumbered the cab and smokebox and applied the nameplates - only then did I realise it was a 'single chimney' variant !!! Now I find it almost impossible to locate one from the usual suppliers, has anyone any ideas? I have tried: Hornby Peters Spares Mainly Trains (not trading at present!?) 247 Developments SE Finecast Comet DJH None of the above list them, any help would be appreciated. 67A
Hi guys, Just back from a trip out to the Halifax show which is a show I try not to miss and having a fractured toe was not stopping me this year! Several good layouts but a little too many foreign types for my taste but others may enjoy. My favourites were 'Halifax' the hosting clubs portrayal of the town's station in the 50's, its far from complete but coming along nicely. My other favourite was 'Crawton' a small BR blue era offering, good trade support as always. Got a few new bits which will appear in due course following a visit to the paint shop.

67A
Hi all, The Wigan show was excellent, several outstanding layouts and good range of traders, I picked up everything I wanted except an A3 chimney! I have ordered one from Craftsman Models but there is now a problem accessing their website and the vibes at the show are not very positive so I can only hope Craftsman are still trading. My favourite layouts were Black Country Blues, Ellesmere, Hazelbank, Stoke-by-Nayland and Widnes Vine Yard but don't take my word for it go and have a look! Hi Mike, been the last 3 years, but didn't enjoy it last year, and the 5 of us that went up from down here were ready to leave by 1pm, shame really, so we didn't bother this year, off to the Great Electric Train Show at Gaydon next Saturday. Bit too far for me nowadays mate, my next show will be Warrington in a fortnight then Merseyside at the end of the month. Pics will follow soon, dimwit here thought he had downloaded them from the camera but you know me and bleeding technology!
67A
Hi all, Following a lengthy lull here we go again....new additions will be noted as we go. BR Clan Pacific 72009 Clan Stewart exits Widdale tunnel with a northbound Stourton-Carlisle partially fitted van train. New addition- not yet visited paint shop: EE Type 4 D338 is on a WCML diversion heading from Perth to Euston, the train will take the Blackburn line at Hellifield to regain the WCML. General views... cont/...
RMweb Premium Clive Mortimore Posted October 2, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 2, 2016 Hi Mike I brought a D338 the other day, I am a bit concerned about the heavy mould line on the nose, not on the real one. I know it can be filed smooth but that will involve a repaint and over 100 quid that to me is not acceptable.
67A
part 2... Ex:LMS 3F 43762 has charge of a fitted mineral working to Appleby. Ivatt 2-6-0 43096 is southbound with a part fitted freight. Southbound with a length Scottish coal working is 9F 2-10-0 92125 The new order which was to be in the form of the XP64 Brush Type 4 D1733 in experimental Blue Livery, not actually on 1E67 but a class 8 oil train from Leeds to the north.
67A
BR Sulzer Type 2 Bo-Bo D5054 trundles over Monkey Beck bridge with a Carlisle-Hellifield stopper. BR Standard 4MT 75062 heads north with ballast empties comprising Grampus and Dogfish wagons. In the opposite direction a loaded ballast working rumbles south behind WD 2-8-0 90445 hauling Dogfish, SeaCow and SeaLion wagons (New additions) There is apparently a demand for ballast in the south - M1 perhaps? as BR Sulzer Bo-Bo D5211 heads a similarly loaded working booked as far as Leeds. (New addition) D5211 has received a first weathering prior to entering service together with an appropriate headcode!
67A
A good few months later ...........erm........well, here again is D338 following it's visit to the paint shop is charged with a Carlisle - Leeds semi-fast looking a little more realistic. BR Class 4 Mogul 2-6-0 76114 bursts from under the Coal Road bridge A fine study of the last steam loco built at Doncaster Works and a particular favourite of mine as it was allocated to Corkerhill 67A in the mid 60's. Hughes Crab 2-6-0 42789 crosses Widdale viaduct with a Glasgow bound fitted freight. A powerful looking class the 'Crab'
67A
Two more of the 'Crab' Hot on its heels is an Eastern interloper in the shape of K2 2-6-0 62027 also in charge of a fitted freight bound for Edinburgh via the Waverley route. Sulzer Type 2 D7645 powers with ease another northbound fitted freight. Another Eastern loco being returned south is B1 61008 'KUDU' with a fitted freight bound for Wakefield. The 9F is having another run round the circuit.
