Hi Mike

Your there mail train, what make are the vans without nets? I have a Bachmann one with nets and it needs a stowage van to go with it.

Yours

Ronnie Biggs

Hi Clive (Ronnie),

They are the original Bachmann version

Hi Andy,

Gave up with those and swapped them for a pair of readers and a pair of distance and got money back so bought a Standard 5! New problem I have found is the readers, the old ones are better than the new!

Good swap deal, I didn't know Specsavers sold Locos as well, hahhaha.

Good Loco, I ONLY have one so need a couple more.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi all,

Well another week gone by and little progress due to other commitments. However I did manage a few bits here and there...

post-5296-0-09984700-1471790407_thumb.jpg

The latest batch of Anhydrite conversions has been tagged on to the rear of the original five, only eight more to go!

post-5296-0-07220000-1471790496_thumb.jpg

Regular S&C performer BR 9F 2-10-0 92125 hauls a 12 wagon rake of empty Anhydrite wagons back to Long Meg,

post-5296-0-67026900-1471790538_thumb.jpg

The rear seven are overhauled vehicles just released back to the traffic division following works attention, I doubt they will stay that clean for long.

post-5296-0-36311100-1471790582_thumb.jpg

New addition to the roster in the shape of ex:LMS Compound 4-4-0 40934 looking decidedly ex: Derby Loco Works! A definite candidate for weathering.

post-5296-0-76490900-1471790630_thumb.jpg

Another new edition in the shape of BR Standard 5 4-6-0 73050, this will receive further weathering etc.

No I have not gone mad, my friend Brian has asked me to tone this down a little.

post-5296-0-35354200-1471790708_thumb.jpg

Friday night's visitors were again era-hopping never mind regional hopping!

post-5296-0-63675600-1471790727_thumb.jpg

Same visitor, Grandson's interest shown in previous photo - Grandad's interest more this era. Crosti 9F 92023 (8F) really.

I definitely need to get a split headcode 40' and 45' they look more interesting

Even my stock gets a run out on visitors night! D67 'The Royal Artilleryman' heads north with 1S64 'The Waverley' from St.Pancras to St.Enoch

As the mineral enters Rise Hill tunnel in the opposite direction powers Class A3 4-6-2 Pacific 60041 'Salmon Trout' with the St.Pancras bound 'Thames-Clyde Express'

Not that quiet mate, both Pen and North Road have had some more interesting posts, including a Class 40 on Pen.

Hi Tony,

Nice to have you aboard. Yes it would take some time to read the whole thread however if any particular aspects are of interest there is an index on the first post, which reminds me it needs updating!

As for era's I normally run between 1955-1968 but also include 'D' prefixed blue diesels with blue and grey stock occasionally, The layout is far from finished so ongoing work will be continuing for some time, hope you enjoy your visits.

It's the WEEKEND ...................I need my FIX.

I'VE GOT MY FIX ALREADY ! I managed to get my signals working correctly today having misunderstood the functions on electronic gizmo thingy :scratchhead: The unit has buttons: LOW - PROG - HIGH - REV

Apparently the term 'REV' does not mean REVERSE apparently it means 'MODE' and does all kinds of programming functions, I thought if when I pressed the 'LOW' button and the signal went up then pressing REV would make the signal go down - but no it was all going haywire, all sorted now thankfully.

A new addition will be unveiled tomorrow !!!

As the front page of the instructions said (well, the ones for men)...since you've tried it your way, how about a read and trying it our way ! Sometimes electronics can be very confusing even with the background and instructions to hand. Try reading the digitrax instructions, they are painful at best. The ones for the ds54 are horrible...mind, it is a very capable piece of kit, with lots of options, but still...

Well said James, however there were no written instructions and you had to refer to the web and that was war & peace so I opted for the Frank Sinatra approach, got there in the end.

Spent the last two days tinkering with a few nagging faults and now I have an electrical fault on the Down line, the usual scenario - fix one thing, break another!
