Here is a consolation pasty for all those of us who weren't there to get the real thing. Not exactly home-made though! Despite just eating 2 lots of sliders that pastie still makes me hungry!! Lady_Ava_Hay Posted April 28, 2013 Share Posted April 28, 2013 Back home about half an hour ago. Downloaded 149 pics and 2 videos to my laptop and external hard drive. Andy Y has tentatively offered a stream opening onto the RMWeb hard drive but I might be persuaded to burn some midnight oil and make a movie style presentation for our overseas readers on CD using Windows Movie Maker through Windows 7. If anybody can think of any snags and workarounds let me know. At the same time it did occur to me that our sponsors Warners might have a better idea. RMweb Gold Ramblin Rich Posted April 28, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 28, 2013 As always, a marvellous day and thanks again to Tim (Captain K), Andy, everyone else involved in organising and (especially) those in the kitchen supplying the pasties & cakes. I think I'm only just now getting hungry again.... Great to catch up with familiar faces again in such a relaxed atmosphere. I'm sure my pictures won't be up to the standard of those with better cameras - but as in publishing it's sometimes counts to be first rather than best! So here goes anyway... David Taylor (DLT)'s Bridport Town - definitely my favourite. Minimal depth of field on my camera, but I loved this view: Al (Barry ten)'s Paynestown - captured the feel of "the valleys" with the varying land form and the backscene being a real feature: Arthur's steelworks section on the module layout was another highlight to me: And Stu (stubby 47)'s "Black Country Baby Blues" module, capturing the feel of the full BCB layout in 4 feet & on a curve! Excuse the lack of trains - shutter speed too low to get moving objects! Just realised I don't get any of Colin's "split personality" layout though - an oversight as it was also very nicely done with those cunning interchangable buildings. Maurice Hopper's St Joliet was very lovely too - a real work of art & an exercise in minimalist construction. Tawbridge looks like it will be impressive when the station area is finished too. Of course it is possible that he remembered by himself). Perhaps somebody would be kind enough to take a spare? I had a great time and it was good to catch up with so many people and have a chat with new faces today. The Saturday trip was a great addition and the group was made to feel very welcome by the west Somerset railway and had the chance to go behind the scenes. The pub was good too, agree with stationmaster about a positive change but it was the younger members of the group that where still drinking at the end of the night! Looking forward to next year already. Thanks to everyone involved from captain K and The kitchen ladies to the exhibitors who took the time to bring something along. Good to see lots of familiar faces and also meet a few new ones - I particularly enjoyed a lengthy chat with Paul PD&SWJR and his better half. Didn't take many photos - but here a a couple; PD&SWJR's delightful cameo with Fred Dibnah flogging pasties Phil Copleston's equaly delightful 0-4-0T contractors loco on St Juliet and finally, a couple more items of motive power on St Juliet, LSWR 02 and T1 Big thanks to CK, Andy Y and the team, already looking forward to coming back next year with Tucking Mill.
