Thanks I have been using the Wickes cork tiles at £10/sqm

so this is a significant saving, easier to use

isn't there a difference in thickness?

IIRC Wickes' Tiles (i've used them) are 3mm thick.

Not sure if it's a bargain but b&q had rolls of 4mm cork.

5 meters x 0.5 meters for £19.

Paul

Don't know how that became available, it's not an item on their website and a 50 mile round trip drew a blank at my "local" branch.

They do 10m x 1m x 2mm for £30 which works out cheaper (equivalent to 5m x 1m x 0.4mm)

I don't know if this has been posted before, but Hattons have a Lima Crab in for 22 quid. Not such a bargain you say? 'Twould be true, except for the fact that this one seems to be wearing a set of EM Romford drivers and some decent bogie wheels. Tender looks like it's just had the original wheels eased outwards, so nothing special there. Still, the driving wheels alone must be just about worth the asking price.

It's been posted before I believe, but a NEW Bachmann slightly weathered class 66 for £75 IS a bargain. OK it hasn't got a cardboard sleeve. Big deal!!!
Got one at the Great Electric Train Show in Milton Keynes and it runs as smooth as silk.

It is one of those models that may well be dumped on the second hand market if enough buy the new model. Also one that is best tested before purchasing due to the bogies having a habit of bowing.

Hattons are offering it for £22 as a non runner but you can also have it DCC fitted at an extra cost of £32.

As DCC fitted would mean testing it after fitting to check the DCC decoder is working correctly in the loco, surely  it must then be a runner? :scratchhead:

Nope. They are water damaged. Only the boxes mind.

I think you missed my point there. The price for it is bargain, wasn't disputing that. Was just saying that soon there'll be a number of Bachmann 66s likely on the second hand market if the new hattons one is well recieved enough that people start swapping their fleets for it.

Here’s hoping!

I’m going to order the large logo one and see what happens with the Bachmann market, to be honest I think since the announcement the Bachmann class 66 market has gone a bit stagnant, I refuse to buy 66726 ‘marine one’ as it’s stupidly expensive for what it is, waiting on the next 10% off with eBay promo before picking one up as that would bring it down by a fair whack (but still top dollar) just last week I got 66711 sence for £110 and ltd ed 66745 ‘modern railways’ for £99 off eBay, that price I can more than live with

I bet rails were well upset with hattons announcement having just released the maritime one.....on eBay class 66 seem to be going for the 80 quid area, my fleet of 2 is devalued a fair bit Edited by rob D2

Indeed with Bachmann 66’s in prices from low 60’s to mid 80’s ive actually started upgrading my fleet of Lima class 66’s.

Its funny, Bachmann 66’s have devalued lower than Hornbys class 66’s, which suggests theres 000’s of them out there which will start peeling off the icebergs and sink onto ebay.

Not many of these reductions seem that amazing to me (on the Diesel side)...

Highlights seem to be:

EWS Class 67 £89: https://www.hattons.co.uk/StockDetail.aspx?SID=98072

Chiltern Class 68 £79: https://www.hattons.co.uk/StockDetail.aspx?SID=145650

Metropolitan Bo-Bo £64: https://www.hattons.co.uk/StockDetail.aspx?SID=202957

East Coast Mk4s £11: https://www.hattons.co.uk/StockDetail.aspx?SID=98171

No doubt the smaller discounts will be useful to those considering purchase anyway, just not too much on a impulse attraction for me anyway!
