Great post Mikkel and I'm ashamed to admit its a long time since I visited DRC and you living in Denmark too.
Maskol has been used to good effect on creating peeling paint.
-
Here's me thinking the Bachmann model was decent.Does my 3796 need these additions too then.

Fabulous work BT and food for thought on my next coach kit build. There's a pair on ebay at the moment.
-
Yes I saw the Scatter Rock wagon and Wessex Wagons did a version release date of 2007 no.75.Worth looking out on ebay. Not sure how authentic they are though.

Damn.I'm not going to change my 3796 now as its too fiddly with those small letters. No one mentioned it on my layout thread though.
I assume you mean this kit http://www.powsides.co.uk/www.powsides.co.uk/info.php?p=7&pid=2742898&ack=9

Absolutely smashing Mark.I'm going to be watching this blog with interest.I like Fox cabsides.A bit dearer but the quality there and the mail order service is top drawer.
You'll be wanting your wagons back to shunt.

Outstanding blog Mikkel but who's the lady passenger in the pink dress ? I'm sure I know her....

The Peco version is an AA3 diagram 16T and used to come with transfers for 'Kingsbridge' !

You said you wanted a couple of panniers scuttling about.Well I've found you a 64xx that was allocated to Gloucester albeit a bit later than '47 but with modellers license etc.

PPS - best GW pattern signal box levers are in my view, the etched ones by Smiths. Takes a little time to set up correctly, but they do look good when finished and painted. Check what the centres are between levers, this did vary in GW boxes, depending on the type of locking frame used - others more expert in this regard than I can advise if you need more info.
I never knew Smiths did etched levers CK.I need to check those out.How many come in a pack for example. What did you use for the base with them.

I'll be following this with interest.

A very cunning plan Mikkel.I like the idea of it being set in 1947,so what locos and stock are you planning to use ?

How does it compare with the Townstreet water tower you used on Bleakhouse CK ?
-
Bloody fantastic Mikkel. You can scratchbuild better than I build from kits.Great work.
-
Yes the kits are with Coopercraft but are not listed as yet.I quessing the etches are the old Mallard ones.
-
Did you ever get around to finishing this model Rich.Saw an O gauge version on a layout at Leamington and thought they made a nice vehicle.Blacksmith have one listed which might be this one of yours.
-
Did you ever sort out that damaged 38xx off ebay Rich ?
-
Are you ok for prototype photos as I have one somewhere when I had plans to build the Mercian ? kit a few years back.Your model looks very nice.

One thing that does stand out from the Bachmann moulding is how better the rear window bars are compared to the latest Hornby 42xx offering. How many years between them ?
Excellent work Mark.
