  1. We watched Murder She Said last night, a 1961 comedy/murder mystery based on an Agatha Christie book. The first 5 minutes contain enough railway to keep anyone here spotting continuity errors a plenty. Miss Marple leaves Paddington in a Mk 1 First Class comp behind what looks to be a King and from then on it's any old train they had stock footage available for! I'll give them one thing though. It's set next to a mainline that has to be the Western, going on the trains seen going by. These include, amazingly, a D600 Warship on a passenger. Oh, although the film creaks a bit, it's worth a watch. steve
  2. Very 1960s! And there’s this to go with them: steve
  3. "Do you know Bach’s “Sheep May Safely Graze?” “Only the first couple of baas”. steve
  4. Found a copy in my local Spar shop. Never seen it in there before. Bought it for something to look at during lockdown. Pleased to see an old friend and his layout in there, Dave Spencer. I knew him when we were both members of Marlow, Maidenhead & District club. steve

  7. I noticed the reporter was the mining and agribusiness correspondent. Does that mean he’s also in charge of the sheep dip? steve
  8. I'm revising the track plan for 2 reasons: 1. Although it is good plan, I don't think it is workable in a boxfile format. Needs to be wider. 2. The l/h point turned out to be a dodgy s/h item and I couldn't be sure of its reliability. This version will have two fiddlesticks and both will powered. The straight track will give the appearance of being cut back. It will be BR and fenced off but the rest will be industrial. The Slough Estates Railway, where my grandfather worked, is part of the inspiration. steve
  9. Still some things going on. Finished both parts of the Scale Model Scenery office but stalled on the staircase which is a total PITA, Oh, the Electric Inspector decided to check the LED lighting. steve
  10. Having got my Naim CD 5X back in operation yesterday, so far it has hosted: Miles Davis - The Lost Quintet Yes - Glastonbury 2003 Status Quo - Backbone I'm working my way through the pile of unplayed CDs that contains birthday presents, a couple of purchases and, the majority, ones that have been sent to me from music biz contacts. steve
  11. It's probably to stop you doing either of those things. That said, my 2005 Pug 407SW will happily do 2 to 4 and 3 to 5 without complaining. steve
  12. Jools, I've used PVA for years on several layouts* over foam (proper stuff, not Peco) and not had any problems. steve * Some of which you've seen
  13. Here's one of the 'hollow sleepers' that I saw at Eastrington Station on the Selby-Hull line when the level crossing was being updated in summer 2018. steve
  14. A lockdown project in two permanently connected boxfile plus a fiddlestick add on. Industrial location in late 1970s/early 1980s. Proposed track plan shown. Thanks for looking. steve
