  1. Love the Westerns. Probably best off posting in Modifying and Detailing RTR stock http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/forum/176-modifying-detailing-rtr-stock/ Cheers Steve
  2. I use weathering powders. However be very very sparing with them. Use tiny amounts This a Scalescenes building that I adapted and used some powders on Some others to give you a feel of what I did with powders Not the best pictures.
  3. Very nice, I especially like the flaking paint effect on the 12t pipe
  4. As others have said. Get some cheap stock. Experiment and use reference pictures to see how the dirt falls in real life. Go for it
  5. Good job they moved out http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5144203/Armed-police-surround-Audi-near-Penny-Lane.html
  6. Thanks Simon, glad you liked them. These pictures are taken on a camera phone so they do not show the colours or the details properly. I should get around to buying a proper camera! I have more stuff to post up - but it is finding the time to take the pics. My dogfish are now finished I also have 25201 and 47285 knocking about. SPAs as well.
  7. All these names of Bristol drinking establishments brought 1980´s memories flooding back. I worked the very busy bars at the Old Port House and the Dug Out Club. And spent a lot of time on Temple Meads.
  8. When Matt varnish is appliead as a sealant over the top of powders it tends to knock them back and you loose much of the more subtle effects. Have you found this usuing Hairspray? Or has is proved to not effect the powders too much Thanks Steve
  9. Out of interest are those high speed lines passing over where the old stabling point was back in the 1970s 80s?
  10. Hi Shed Photobucket dumped most of the pictures out of this thread so I started a new one here http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/124942-weathered-1980s-blue-locos-and-stock/
  11. I have just purchased Dapol´s class 73124 showing 89. Can some one tell me what route this would relate to on the South Eastern Division. I have found a picture of a 73 parked up at Ashford with code 89 showing in 1981 but a search on the internet has not given me any clues Thanks Steve
  12. Can anyone point me in the direction of some class 73 head codes I could print out. I am sure I have seen some on RM web at some point but can not find them. Loco is BR Blue 73124. (Whilst I am here. Here is my just completed model of 47324 fashioned together out of all sorts of bits of Heljan class 47s. Headcodes scratch built and hand rails ect and then weathered) Camera phone picture
  13. Well modeled run down crappy BR blue - perfect Cheers Steve
