  3. What has happened it’s a week later and no update. No doubt you have got on with another MTK kit and haven’t told us yet. No worries looking forward to your next update. Keith
  4. This looks like a great idea. On the subject of station buildings what about a variation of those at Devils Dyke. Keith
  5. I presume you are talking about resin printing. I have one but waiting for better weather. However I think it is mainly a yes to all your questions. Have a look at a few threads on here to give you an idea. Wokos thread covers wagons carriages locomotives and even buildings all in resin. I think one of the things to do once printed and cured is to get a squirt of primer over as soon as possible. This I think is to cover the resin to protect from uv light. hope this helps Keith
  6. Just a quick question. What is the train that you took to the SVR? Keith ps like the before and after shot of KGV shame about the photo bomb……twice……..he he he.

  10. That would be an ecumenical question………….. Keith off to the largest lingerie department in Dublin……..
  11. Football or Rugby extra with a bit of added refreshment. Keith
  12. Ah the simple answer. Why not bring back the steam engine. Overnight the fire is clamped down with the kettle just gurgling in the background. The same happened at Tunbridge Wells west. Once steam was replaced with the DEMUs noise complaints went up. Mind you the sound of 10 to 15 thumpers ticking over heaven to me but not to the great unwashed……… Keith ps. One just wonders how noisy the replacement supermarket carpark is at night.
  13. That looks great Darius. From the photos above you cannot see the difference in length of the Griddle car. I am slowly drawing the 4RES but have already hit an issue with the windows. I am using the Golding book but confirming details from other sources. The first problem was the windows in the kitchen. The drawing shows them as being frosted full depth. However from photographs they are in fact clear but less than half height. I can only presume that during a refurb the windows where changed. Keith
  14. At the end of the day the majority of layouts are a compromise. At the moment I am into brick counting from published photos. All the buildings I hope to model in the main do not exist. So they will all be to an extent acceptable rather than accurate. I look at them on the basis of rule 1. Keith
  15. I lived just down the road from the footpath crossing north of Salfords station. To get to thecrossing you had to climb a flight of steps andante the top there was not a platform to stand onto see if the coast was clear. In away it made sure yourespected the railway especially when the CIG/BIGs were introduced as they where permitted to do 90mph. Now elf and safely has come into play and the crossing is now footbridge. Keith
  16. What I should have said was. COR you need to take a RESt so that one you have painted the GRIddle you can then BUFf it up. Keith off to get my hat and coat……
  17. All I can say is COR! That really captures the look of a Nelson now if you could get the front corridor connector to swing…….. Keith
  18. 1960 onwards. Out of my bedroom in the distance I could see the Brighton line. So I can remember BIL, LAV, PUL, PAN, City and of course the BEL. Also saw the boosters and very occasionally a steam engine mainly rebuilt WC/BB. By about 1964/65 I was allowed with my mate to go to Salfords station to go spotting. I could get glimpses of the railway from my junior school but it was when I went to secondary it was down hill. The school faced on to the Quarry line…. Keith
  19. Just been looking through Brian Goldings „A pictorial guide to Southern Electric Units“. On page 147 there is a picture of a Waterloo Portsmouth train of 4COR units just about to cross an occupation crossing. The unit is in green and I cannot see a lion and wheel emblem so the photo could be before 1948. The crossing looks like it has been freshly made. It shows the cattle grids and the surface looks like gravel. Keith
  20. Would there have been a difference if the crossing also included a public right of way. Who would have the responsibility of maintaining the gates. Keith
  21. Nah it’s nota dishwasher. It s just a big ultrasonic cleaner that can double up as a dishwasher……. Keith
